Thunder F Kevin Durant to have foot surgery, miss rest of season
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:02 pm ET) The Thunder released a statement from General Manager Sam Presti on Friday, announcing that forward Kevin Durant will undergo another foot surgery and miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

After consulting with two specialists this week, the team and Durant came to the conclusion that a bone graft procedure would be the best approach to repair the Jones fracture that Durant suffered.

Dr. Martin O'Malley will perform the surgery next week in New York and Durant is expected to return to basketball activities in four-to-six months. Durant averaged 25.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game before the injury.

Aldridge has been dealing with an injury to his left index finger, but he played Wednesday and scored 19 points. Batum has been battling a back issue, which kept him the Blazers' last two contests. And Kaman has a shoulder strain that has kept him out of action for the last three contests.

The Trail Blazers are 2 1/2-point favorites.

Jazz F Gordon Hayward probable for Friday

(2:17 pm ET) Suns guards Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight are game-time decisions for Friday's contest against the Trail Blazers, per the team's website.

Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said Bledsoe was feeling better from a stomach illness that caused him to miss Thursday's practice, while Knight practiced on the ankle that has caused him to miss seven straight contests.

The Suns are 2 1/2-point underdogs.

Thunder C Steven Adams likely to play Saturday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(1:54 pm ET) Thunder center Steven Adams, who is dealing with an elbow injury, among other ailments, was a full participant practice Friday and expects to play in the team's game against the Jazz, per The Oklahoman. Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday (leg) remains cautious about injury
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(1:34 pm ET) Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday said Friday he isn't in a hurry to rush back from the stress fracture in his lower leg, citing a need for patience after suffering a setback shortly after the All-Star break in trying to return too quickly, per the New Orleans/Baton Rouge Advocate.

Holiday said he saw his doctor when the Pelicans played the Clippers on March 22 and would likely have one more visit before determining a course of action. Holiday has not played since Jan. 12.

Bulls guard Derrick Rose may be cleared for contact soon
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(1:20 pm ET) Guard Derrick Rose, who is working his way back from a knee injury, participated in the non-contact portion of Bulls practice Friday and may be a few days away from being a full-on practice participant, per the Chicago Tribune

Rose has not played since Feb. 23 after undergoing a meniscectomy on his knee, but has said that he hopes to return by the end of the season.

Mavericks F Richard Jefferson (back) will attempt to play Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(1:00 pm ET) Mavericks forward Richard Jefferson, who has been suffering from back spasms, said he will try to play Friday against the Spurs, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Jefferson is averaging 5.5 points this season.

Raptors G Kyle Lowry (back) ruled out of Friday's game
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(12:42 pm ET) Guard Kyle Lowry, still suffering from the back issues that have caused him to miss three of the last four games, will not play Friday against the Lakers, according to the National Post

Lowry, who was experiencing back spasms before Wednesday's game, has not improved enough to take the court. Greivis Vasquez is expected to start in place of Lowry.

The Raptors are 8-point favorites Friday.
