The move to rescind the offer was done to maximize cap space.


Report: PG Rajon Rondo chooses Kings in free agency

(7:23 pm ET) The Kings and free-agent point guard Rajon Rondo have agree on a one-year, $10 million deal, Yahoo Sports is reporting.

Rondo joins the Kings after one of the worst seasons of his career, when he averaged 9.3 points and 6.5 assists for the Celtics and Mavericks.


Report: Rockets, Patrick Beverly agree to four-year deal

(7:19 pm ET) The Rockets and restricted free-agent point guard Patrick Beverley agreed to a four-year, $25 million deal on Friday, Yahoo Sports is reporting.

Beverley received interest from other teams in free agency, including the Kings. He returns to the Rockets, for which he averaged 10.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season.


Report: Corey Brewer to return to Rockets on multi-year deal

(6:13 pm ET) The Rockets and free-agent guard Corey Brewer have agreed on a three-year, $24 million deal that will keep him with the organization, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Brewer was receiving interest in the free-agent market from the Knicks and Lakers, but chose to return to the Rockets. He averaged 11.5 points and 3.7 rebounds last season for Houston.


Report: Grizzlies could use Kousta Koufos in sign-and-trade

(5:51 pm ET) The Grizzlies are willing to use free-agent center Kosta Koufos in a sign-and-trade deal, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Koufos could draw interest from teams who missed out on bigger free-agent names this offseason. He averaged 5.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last season.


Report: Hornets willing to use Mo Williams in sign-and-trade

(5:47 pm ET) The Hornets have expressed interest in using free-agent guard Mo Williams in a sign-and-trade deal, per Yahoo Sports.

Williams was rumored to be nearing a deal with the Grizzlies earlier this week. He averaged 14.2 points per game last season.


Mavericks, free-agent SF Richard Jefferson agree to deal

(5:36 pm ET) The Mavericks and free-agent small forward Richard Jefferson have agreed to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum, Yahoo Sports is reporting.

Jefferson played in 74 games for the Mavericks last season, averaging 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.


Raptors sign first-round pick Delon Wright

(5:27 pm ET) The Raptors have signed their first-round pick Delon Wright to his rookie contract, the team announced on Friday.

Wright -- the 20th overall pick in last month's draft -- averaged 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists as a junior at Utah last season.


Celtics PG Marcus Smart surprised by team's draft picks

(5:22 pm ET) Celtics second-year point guard Marcus Smart has admitted that he was surprised the organization drafted two guards with their two first-round picks in last month's draft, per ESPN.com.

The Celtics drafted guards Terry Rozier and R.J. Hunter in the first round. 

"At first I was just like, ‘Wow, another guard,’" Smart said, per ESPN.com. 

Smart averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season.


Report: DeAndre Jordan on verge of accepting deal with Mavs

(3:51 pm ET) Free-agent center DeAndre Jordan is on the verge of accepting a four-year, $80 million-plus maximum contract from the Mavericks, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Jordan -- one of the prized free agents of this offseason -- was rumored to be deciding between his former team, the Clippers, and the Mavericks.

Jordan averaged 11.5 points and 15 rebounds for the Clippers last season.
