Spurs declare Matt Bonner, Patty Mills out Friday

(2:23 pm ET) The Spurs ruled Matt Bonner (illness) and Patty Mills (shoulder) out for Friday’s game at Minnesota.

This is the second consecutive game Bonner has missed with the illness, while Mills has yet to play this season because of shoulder surgery.


Pacers forward David West returns to practice

(2:10 pm ET) Pacers forward David West returned to practice Friday and participated in minor practice activities, the team reported.

West has yet to play this season as he deals with a sprained ankle.


Report: Hornets F Jeff Taylor will not appeal suspension

(1:58 pm ET) The Hornets will be without forward Jeff Taylor for the entire 24-game suspension he has been serving since the beginning of the season.

Sources indicated Taylor has no plans to appeal the suspension and will serve all 24 games, Yahoo Sports reports.

Taylor was suspended by NBA commissioner Adam Silver for pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge. Taylor has missed 12 games while serving the suspension.


Timberwolves' Kevin Martin diagnosed with fractured wrist

(1:36 pm ET) The Timberwolves announced guard Kevin Martin will be out indefinitely after an MRI revealed he has a fracture in his right wrist.

The fracture occurred during the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Knicks. Despite suffering the injury early in the game, Martin still managed to score 37 points. Through nine games, Martin is averaging 20.4 points and 3.7 rebounds.


Mavericks guard J.J. Barea finding his way

(1:23 pm ET) With Devin Harris ruled out of Friday’s game, Mavericks guard J.J. Barea is expected to receive increased minutes, reports the Star-Telegram.

Since rejoining Dallas, Barea has averaged 7.8 points and 4.3 assists through 11 games, and coach Rick Carlisle said Barea has fit nicely into the team’s system.

"Ever since he walked in here, he's fit back in very well," Carlisle said.


Spurs upgrade guard Marco Belinelli to probable Friday

(1:11 pm ET) The Spurs upgraded guard Marco Belinelli to probable Friday at Minnesota, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Belinelli has only played in three games this season because of a groin injury and he is expected to receive limited minutes.


Mavericks rule guard Devin Harris out Friday

Harris will not play Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers because of soreness in his right lower leg which also caused him to miss Wednesday’s win over the Wizards.


Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee indicates he will play Friday

(12:46 pm ET) After missing Wednesday’s game against the Raptors with an illness, Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee said he will play Friday against Boston, reports the Boston Globe.

Lee is averaging a career-high 14.9 points and 2.3 assists through nine games.


Nets F Andrei Kirilenko leaves team for weekend

(11:58 am ET) Nets veteran forward Andrei Kirilenko will not accompany the team to its next two road games due to personal reasons. The Nets play at Oklahoma City on Friday and San Antonio on Saturday.

Kirilenko has played sparingly this season, averaging just five minutes on the court in seven games.


Hawks will have F DeMarre Carroll back in action vs. Detroit

(11:47 am ET) The Hawks will have forward DeMarre Carroll active and likely in the starting lineup Friday night against the Pistons, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Carrol was back at practice this week after missing four straight games with a groin injury. He is averaging 12.0 points and 6.3 rebounds through his first six games played this season.
