Popovich: Pain tolerance key for return of Spurs F Leonard
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:11 am ET) Gregg Popovich has stated that pain tolerance will be a key element in the timetable for the return of Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard, who has missed the last five games with a torn ligament in his right hand.

"It's a pain thing," Popovich told the San Antonio Express-News. "He can't move his hand. He can't catch and dribble and that kind of stuff. ... Medically, they don't think he can hurt it any more, so that's good."

San Antonio has dropped four of five games with Leonard absent from the lineup.

Clippers SG Jamal Crawford: My elbow is improving
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:35 am ET) A bursa sac injury in the right elbow of Clippers super sub Jamal Crawford is improving. And it has resulted in better accuracy from long distance.

Crawford hit on 7 of 17 from 3-point range over the last two games after missing 13 of 17 in the previous three.

"If we're being completely honest, maybe I should have sat out some of those games, because it's my shooting elbow that's been bothering me," Crawford told NBA.com. "I love basketball too much. I'll deal with the percentages or whatever. It's frustrating because I could only get so far on my follow through. But now, make or miss, the last two games it's felt a lot better and I'm a lot more comfortable. I just weathered the storm."

Pistons PF Jerebko on verge of getting more minutes
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:25 am ET) The promise of more playing time for Pistons power forward Jonas Jerebko is about to be delivered with the departure of surprise cut Josh Smith.

"We know Jonas is going to have to play more," Stan Van Gundy told MLive.com. "What we've done in the past is when there's been a tough post-up matchup we just haven't played him at the 4. Now, we're not going to have the luxury of doing that so we worked (in practice this week) on how we're going to defend and double-team and things like that with him down in the post."

Jerebko has already received some significant minutes this season. He is averaging 14 minutes and 5.6 points per game. It remains to be seen how much of an increase in playing time he will get starting Friday night when the Pistons host Indiana.
