Raptors' DeMar DeRozan letting the game come to him
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(7:28 pm ET) Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is letting the game come to him lately, according to the Toronto Sun.

Since his return from a groin injury, DeRozan has been easing into each game. That's allowed him to see how teams are treating him, and adapt accordingly. This has led to some games where DeRozan racks up assists and rebounds instead of points. In the eyes of his teammates, that's not a bad thing. "That’s what a great player does," said Kyle Lowry. "That’s what an all-star caliber player does. He finds way to help his team win a game."

DeRozan said that he's trying to contribute in multiple areas just in case he doesn't have his shot on a particular night. "Just trying to still impact the game as much as I can, because there are going to be nights like that," DeRozan said. "My role is to just be able to do everything."

DeRozan is averaging 18.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Lakers' Nick Young does not play due to lack of practice
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(5:12 pm ET) Lakers guard Nick Young did not play on Sunday due to not taking part in practices recently, the team announced.

The move wasn't a huge surprise, as coach Byron Scott told reporters that was the plan coming into the contest. Still, Young was disappointed at the result. "Very disappointed I didn’t get out there. But that’s the year has been," Young told the Daily News. Young has been battling an ankle injury, but said he believes his ankle is fine now. Young has missed three straight games due to the issue.

Young is averaging 14.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Lakers' Jordan Hill believes he sustained a hip flexor Sunday

Celtics' Avery Bradley plans to play through thumb injury
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

"It's not my shooting hand," Bradley said.

Nets' Kevin Garnett not thinking of potential buyout
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(4:17 pm ET) With speculation growing about the Nets possibly buying out Kevin Garnett's contract, Garnett told reporters he's more concerned with how the Nets are playing, reports the New York Daily News.

"I haven't thought too much of my own personal [stuff]," Garnett said. "When that road comes, I'll cross it and I'll deal with it," he said. "A lot of things with family, situation and things, it's not just convenient to get up and move, to change things. It's not as convenient as it once was when I was younger. I have a lot more responsibilities and things to take into account."

The Nets are 18-28, but Garnett said he's committed to helping the Nets make the playoffs.

"I don't know what management is going to do," he said. "When my situation comes up, I'll obviously give it some attention. Other than that, my attention is trying to get us on a winning streak, get us on a road where everybody's playing together."

Heat's Luol Deng expects to play Tuesday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

After the game, Deng said he felt good enough to play and is expecting to play in Tuesday's game at Detroit, reports The Palm Beach Post.

Deng has missed the last three games while dealing with a calf injury. In 41 games, he is averaging 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds.

Heat's Hassan Whiteside scores 20 in win over the Celtics
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3:57 pm ET) Heat center Hassan Whiteside displayed some nifty offensive moves to help lead the Heat to a 83-75 victory over the Celtics on Sunday.

Whiteside scored 20 points on 10 of 17 shooting from the field, which was a game high. He also added nine rebounds and three blocks. Whiteside briefly left the game in the third after cutting his lip on an elbow from Celtics center Tyler Zeller, but he was able to finish the game.

"I love to see the young guys respond," coach Erik Spoelsta said, per the team. "They were fearless today."
