Clifford: Al Jefferson is not going to be 100 percent the rest of the way
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:05 am ET) Hornets coach Steve Clifford told reporters that center Al Jefferson will remain hobbled the rest of the way due to right knee soreness, while his team fights for a playoff spot, according to the Charlotte Observer.

"Al is not going to be 100 percent here the rest of the year. He is just not," Clifford said.

Jefferson was forced out of Monday's game against the Bulls in the second half due to knee soreness.

"I told him in the third quarter I don't want to have another thing like last season where you missed three weeks, so I'm not putting you back in," Clifford said of that game vs. the Bulls. "He argued a little bit because we were right there. But when I see him limping around, I go back to last time. We can't afford to lose him for three weeks."

After the game, he had some fluid drained from his sore knee that offered some relief and allowed him to play Wednesday against the Nets. He is averaging 17.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season.

Jefferson is probable for Friday's clash against the Wizards, as his team sits 1/2 game behind the Celtics for the eighth and final playoff spot. Charlotte is a 3 1/2-point underdog, according to VegasInsider.com.

Heat G Goran Dragic: Back spams have slown me down lately
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9:08 am ET) Despite his fast play on the court, Heat guard Goran Dragic admitted again on Thursday that he's feeling slow lately because of back spasms, per the Palm Beach Post.

"It's that time of the season," Dragic said. "Your body takes a pounding. We’re 70 games into the regular season. I'm having problems with my back. Sometimes after a game, the next day it's really sore. But that's normal."

Dragic was traded from Phoenix to Miami before the trade deadline. In his first 16 games with the Heat, he is averaging 17.0 points, 5.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. He is shooting 52.8 percent from the field over that span.

Wizards' DeJuan Blair (personal) expected to miss Friday's game
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12:26 am ET) Wizards power forward DeJuan Blair is not expected to be available for Friday's game against the Hornets due to personal reasons, CSNWashington.com reports.

It'll be the second straight game Blair has not been available. He has averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in 25 games.

Pacers SF C.J. Miles puts up 26 points in loss to Bucks
by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2015) Although the Pacers fell to the Bucks 111-107, small forward C.J. Miles had a strong scoring performance on Thursday.

Miles scored 26 points in 32 minutes, which his double his season average. He also had three rebounds and an assist.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel made no excuses for his team's performance in the loss.

''No excuse,'' Vogel said. ''We played six straight teams with back-to-backs. Some of them came in with a lot of energy. I thought we played with energy but we just weren't very good early.''

''You can't spot a team 23 points and expect to win,'' Vogel said. ''I'm proud of our fight and how they got back into it but you can't start that way.''

Bucks SF Ersan Ilyasova has career-night in win over Pacers
by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2015) Bucks small forward Ersan Ilyasova led the Bucks to a 111-107 victory over the Pacers on Thursday.

Ilyasova scored a career-high 34 points, adding six rebounds and two assists. The 17 points he scored in the first quarter not only set a career-high for any points he's scored in a quarter, he single-handedly outscored the Pacers 17-15.

''Sometimes, you have days like this,'' Ilyasova said.

Bucks coach Jason Kidd weighed in on Ilyasova's night.

''He was cooking,'' Bucks coach Jason Kidd said. ''He was aggressive, he took open shots, he just didn't settle. He also put the ball on the floor. Everything that he shot pretty much went in.''

On the season, he averages 11.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2015) Wizards guard Bradley Beal was held out of practice Thursday after suffering an ankle injury the previous night, the Washington Post reports.

"Not too bad swelling [Thursday]," coach Randy Wittman said. "Overnight was a good night in terms of where he was after the game. He’s sore and we’ll see how much progress he makes [Friday]."

Beal's status for Friday's game remains up in the air. He has averaged 14.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 54 games.
