Rockets C Dwight Howard set to play Wednesday

(9:18 pm ET) Rockets center Dwight Howard will play in Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, the team announced.

Howard missed 11 games with a knee injury before returning to score 26 points and grab 13 rebounds in 30 minutes against the Nuggets Saturday. He was listed as questionable to play Wednesday but appears set to take the floor. The center has averaged 19.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 11 games.


Rockets expect PG Isaiah Canaan to play Wednesday

(9:15 pm ET) The Rockets expected point guard Isaiah Canaan to play against the Nuggets Wednesday, the team announced.

Canaan has missed the last seven games with an ankle injury. He has averaged 9.6 points and 1.7 assists in 14 games.


Report: Timberwolves put Corey Brewer back on trading block

(9:08 pm ET) The Timberwolves have placed small forward Corey Brewer back on the trading block, ESPN.com reports.

The Rockets and Cavaliers are considered the most interested suitors for Brewer, but the Clippers have also joined the chase. Brewer was placed on the trading block in November but removed after the injury to Kevin Martin. Brewer has averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals in 24 games.


Clippers C Spencer Hawes (knee) remains out Wednesday

(8:59 pm ET) Clippers center Spencer Hawes (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pacers and remains without a timetable for return, the Orange County Register reports.

Hawes will be missing his third straight game with the knee injury. He has averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 22 games. Glen Davis played a season-high 19 minutes in Monday's game and could continue to see extra time Wednesday.


Blazers SG CJ McCollum activated Wednesday

(8:47 pm ET) The Trail Blazers have activated shooting guard CJ McCollum for Wednesday's game against the Bucks, The Columbian reports. McCollum has played just 11 games this season due to a fractured finger, averaging 5.0 points on 37.2 percent shooting.

Hornets' Lance Stephenson (groin) expected to return vs. Suns

(8:36 pm ET) Hornets shooting guard Lance Stephenson suffered a groin contusion Wednesday against the Suns after colliding into the basket support, the team announced. He is expected to return to the game.

Stephenson remained on the floor after finishing around the basket and suffering the collision in the third quarter before heading to the locker room to be checked out. He had delivered seven points on 3 of 8 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes at the time of the injury.


Spurs PG Patty Mills making progess, targeting January return

(8:01 pm ET) Spurs point guard Patty Mills (shoulder) has progressed to contact work and was able to participate in the team's full shootaround Wednesday, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Mills is still on track to make his return to action in January, coach Gregg Popovich said Wednesday. The point guard has yet to play this season while recovering from surgery on his right shoulder.


Magic SG Evan Fournier (face) in lineup Wednesday

(7:28 pm ET) Magic shooting guard Evan Fournier is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Celtics.

Fournier took an elbow to the face Monday but was able to practice Tuesday. He should be able to fill his regular role for the Magic Wednesday. Fournier has averaged 14.4 points on 44.9 shooting in 26 games.


Mavericks PG Raymond Felton remains sidelined Wednesday

(7:24 pm ET) Mavericks point guard Raymond Felton will not play Wednesday as he continues to recover from a right ankle injury, the team announced. Felton has yet to take the court in a game this season.

Grizzlies SG Tony Allen (eye) ruled out Wednesday

(7:22 pm ET) Grizzlies shooting guard Tony Allen will not play in Wednesday's game against the Spurs due to an eye injury, the Commercial Appeal reports.

Allen was poked in the eye in Tuesday's win and will miss at least one game while recovering from the injury. He has averaged 7.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 22 games.
