Hornets sign first-round pick Frank Kaminsky
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(7:01 pm ET) The Hornets announced that they have signed first-round draft pick Frank Kaminsky to his rookie contract.

Kaminsky was selected ninth overall and was named the National Player of the Year as a senior at Wisconsin. Kaminsky helped lead the Badgers to the national championship game. Kaminsky shot 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 blocks in 33.6 minutes per game as a senior.

Wizards, Bradley Beal begin negotiations on extension
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(6:48 pm ET) The Wizards and guard Bradley Beal have begun talks on a contract extension, according to The Washington Post

Beal told The Post he thinks he's a max player so it does appear he'll seek a big contract. This past season, Beal averaged 15.3 points per game this past season.

Damian Lillard, Trail Blazers agree to max contract
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(6:28 pm ET) Guard Damian Lillard has agreed to a maximum deal to remain with the Trail Blazers, according to a report from Yahoo! Sports.

Lillard's deal will be over five years and in the $120 million range. With the Blazers likely to lose LaMarcus Aldridge, it made a lot of sense for the franchise to spend its money on locking Lillard up to a max contract.

Lillard averaged 21.0 points, 6.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.4 three-pointers per game during the 2014-15 season.

Cavaliers' Timofey Mozgov has knee scoped, lengthy rehab ahead
by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer
(6:18 pm ET) Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov went through a scope on his right knee on Wednesday, per ESPN.com.

Mozgov is expected to take about six weeks to rehab from the procedure before he can play.

Dwyane Wade accepts one-year, $20 million deal with Heat
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(6:04 pm ET) Dwyane Wade has reached an agreement to remain with the Miami Heat, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Wade will sign a one-year deal worth $20 million. It was previously reported that Wade was nearing a multi-year deal with the Heat. He opted out of his previous contract, which was slated to pay him $16.1 million this year.

Therefore, Wade will earn almost $4 million more for 2015 than he was previously expecting.

“The Heat family and I have shared incredible moments over the years and I look forward to continuing our journey," Wade said in a statement

Wade averaged 21.5 points and 4.8 assists in 62 games during the 2014-15 season.

Report: Suns deal Marcus Morris, Bullock, Granger to Pistons
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:46 pm ET) In a move primarily made to free up cap space, the Suns shipped forwards Marcus Morris and Danny Granger, along with guard Reggie Bullock, to the Pistons for a second-round draft pick in 2020, per CBSSports.com NBA Insider Ken Berger.

With the deal, the Suns now have more than $20 million available in which they might use to go after forward LaMarcus Aldridge.

Morris averaged a career-high 10.4 points and 4.8 rebounds last season. Granger and Bullock both saw limited action after being acquired by the Suns during the year.

Report: Knicks interested in PG Patrick Beverley
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:35 pm ET) Point guard Patrick Beverley is now one of the Knicks' targets, with both sides expressing interest, per a report from Basketball Insiders. However, Beverley is a restricted free agent, meaning the Rockets would have the opportunity to match any offer the Knicks make.

Beverley, who sustained a wrist injury that prevented him from participating in the playoffs, averaged 10.1 points in 31 minutes per game last season, but shot a career-low 38.3 percent from the floor.

Kings to meet with PG Rajon Rondo on Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:17 pm ET) The Kings are planning a meeting Friday with free-agent guard Rajon Rondo to gauge his interest in joining the team, according to a report from KXTV in Sacramento.

Rondo had a 2014-15 season to forget, clashing with coach Rick Carlisle in Dallas and eventually getting dropped from the Mavericks roster in the middle of the playoffs.

The Kings would like to pair Rondo with his friend Rudy Gay, but Rondo is coming off one of his worst statistical campaigns, averagings just 9.3 points and 6.5 assists on 43.6 percent shooting.

Report: PG Shane Larkin signs two-year contract with Nets
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:03 pm ET) Point guard Shane Larkin is on the move, but he won't have to go far, as the former Knick is signing a two-year deal worth $3 million with the Nets, per Yahoo Sports.

Larkin played well in a backup role last season, averaging 6.2 points and 3.0 assists in 76 games for New York. He'll join a crowded backcourt in Brooklyn, where the Nets feature Deron Williams, Jarrett Jack and Steve Blake at the point guard position.

Report: Trail Blazers to sign PF Ed Davis
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(2:50 pm ET) According to a report from Yahoo Sports, the Trail Blazers will sign former Lakers forward Ed Davis to a three-year, $20 million contract.

Davis had a breakout campaign for the Lakers in his fifth NBA campaign, averaging a career-high 8.3 points and 7.6 rebounds in 79 games last season. He opted out of his contract at the end of the season, setting the stage for a big pay day.

According to the report, the Blazers are still trying to re-sign forward LaMarcus Aldridge, and Davis could provide depth if Aldridge stays or a new starter at the position if Aldridge leaves.
