Lakers forward Carlos Boozer downplays benching in fourth quarter
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:43 pm ET) Lakers power forward Carlos Boozer didn't sound too concerned with not playing in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's game against the Hornets, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

"I'm trying to teach the guys how to win," said Boozer. "If I see things out there, I'll let them know what I see and hope they see it for themselves, too. I try to keep guys in good spirits. It’s been a tough year for us, but we’re fighting through it together."

Boozer scored 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading to his first double-double in the last six games.

"I'm a positive man," Boozer said. "I give my parents all the credit for that. They gave us a positive environment. We didn’t have a lot growing up. But we made it fun."

Bulls' Doug McDermott getting more opportunities with injuries
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:24 pm ET) Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is hoping rookie Doug McDermott will take his chance to play more and run with it this week. Thibodeau praised his defense Wednesday and said he's going to get another chance.

"I like Doug a lot. He'll do well," Thibodeau said to the Chicago Tribune. "He has a great attitude and approach. Unfortunately, he got hit with the injury. But he has done a good job. He's going to be a good pro."

McDermott played 15 minutes in Chicago's last game against the Wizards, grabbing one rebound and dishing out one assist.

"Be consistent. This will be a good opportunity for him. We'll see where he is. I don't want him to get wrapped up in stuff that's not important."

Bulls list Nikola Mirotic as probable for Thursday's game
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:20 pm ET) Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic is considered probable for Thursday's game against the Thunder after suffering a left shoulder contusion, the team announced.

Mirotic, who is averaging 26 points over his last two games, has filled in nicely for Chicago after Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose went down with injuries.

"Niko's a stud," center Joakim Noah said to the Chicago Tribune. "Floor spacing is very important in this league. Niko can do that very well."

Noah wasn't the only teammate to sing Mirotic's praises.

"He has been playing great, making the right reads," Aaron Brooks said. "Every game, it seems he gets smarter. He has the game. It's just adjusting it to the NBA."

Wolves upgrade Kevin Martin (illness) to probable Wednesday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3:15 pm ET) Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, according to the StarTribune.

Martin is dealing with an illness, which kept him out of Monday's loss to the Clippers, but he said he is feeling better.

The Timberwolves are 6 1/2-point favorites.

Pistons' Stan Van Gundy: Reggie Jackson is off his game
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:11 pm ET) Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy still thinks Reggie Jackson can help save their season, but he needs to improve from his struggles over the past few games.

"I just think, overall, he's off his game. He's pressing too hard, trying to do too much, sort of thinking too much," Van Gundy said. "He's got to relax and play according to what the defense does."

Jackson has shot 16 of 51 from the field, scoring 47 points in the three games. Jackson is trying to remain positive through the shooting woes.

"To get people places, you've got to be positive," Jackson said this week. "It's all positive criticism. We're just here to help each other. I didn't want him to feel like he let us down. He wasn't the reason we didn't win. He was a big part of the reason we came back.

Mavs list Chandler (hip) as probable Thursday; Parsons (ankle) ruled out
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(3:05 pm ET) The Mavericks listed center Tyson Chandler (left hip) as probable for Thursday's game at Portland, according to the team's official website.

A hip injury has caused Chandler to miss the last three games. Meanwhile, an ankle injury will force forward Chandler Parsons to miss his sixth straight game Thursday. Forward Richard Jefferson has seen his minutes increase with Parsons sidelined.

Wizards forward Kris Humphries misses practice Wednesday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3:00 pm ET) Wizards power forward Kris Humphries was unable to practice Wednesday, according to CSN Washington.

Humphries is averaging 8.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in 56 games this season.

Grizzlies upgrade Zach Randolph to probable for Wednesday's game
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2:05 pm ET) The Grizzlies upgraded forward Zach Randolph from questionable to probable for Wednesday's game at Houston, the team announced.

Randolph is dealing with an illness, which caused him to miss Monday's contest. In 49 games, Randolph is averaging 16.5 points and 11.7 rebounds.

The Grizzlies are 3 1/2-point underdogs.

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
