Hawks F DeMarre Carroll (knee) also has turf toe
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5:55 pm ET) Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll was dealing with more than just an injured knee during the playoffs.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Carroll was also dealing with turf toe, an injury that normallly take three to four weeks to heal. Carroll told the AJC that he was unable to do much with his left leg.

"That’s why I kept getting shots blocked,” Carroll said.

After scoring 25 in the series-clinching win over the Wizards on May 15, Carroll only scored a combined 28 points in four games against the Cavaliers.

James Harden said Rockets won't quit down 3-1 to Warriors
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5:21 pm ET) Though the Rockets were able to win Game 4, they still face an uphill climb as their down 3-1 in the Western Conference finals to the Warriors.

Even with the odds stacked against them, the Rockets don't plan on backing down in Game 5. Guard James Harden, who scored 45 points in Game 4, said his team will be up for the challenge once again Wednesday night.

“We just don’t quit,” Harden said, via the Houston Chronicle. “No matter how down we look, we just don’t ever give up. It’s another case tonight where we have to win a tough one on the road. We have to be locked in.”

PG Stephen Curry sore, but will play normal minutes
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(2:15 pm ET) After suffering a scary fall during his team's Game 4 loss, Warriors guard Stephen Curry will play his normal amount of minutes Wednesday as the team looks to clinch in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, per Ken Berger of CBSSports.com.

Curry was wearing a shooting sleeve with an elbow pad on his right arm during shootaround and said that he was sore all over, but that he was "good to go" for the game. Curry is averaging 32.5 points in the conference finals.

Report: Grizzlies G Beno Udrih to undergo ankle surgery
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(11:17 am ET) Grizzlies guard Beno Udrih will undergo minor ankle surgery, according to a report from European basketball site Sportando, and will not play on the Slovenian team in the upcoming Eurobasket tournament.

Udrih dealt with the ankle issue during the playoffs but otherwise was healthy during the regular season, averaging 7.7 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Grizzlies C Kosta Koufos to draw free-agent interest
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(10:27 am ET) Grizzlies big man Kosta Koufos played limited minutes behind Marc Gasol, but according to Eurohoops, several teams will be interested in his services once he becomes a free agent on July 1.

Memphis would like to re-sign him, but their decision will hinge on what happens with Gasol. Other teams rumored to be interested in Koufos are the Magic, Kings and Celtics.

Koufos averaged 5.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season, and recently expressed a desire to take on a starting role.

Hawks F Paul Millsap to explore free-agency options
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(9:11 am ET) Paul Millsap's strong playoff performance did nothing to lessen his value on the free agent market, and the forward will have to decide this offseason if he wants to remain with the Hawks or sign a lucrative deal with another team, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The two-time All-Star is an unrestricted free agent and figures to have a host of suitors for his services. Millsap completed a two-year, $19 million contract, and expects to get a major raise after averaging 16.7 points and 7.8 rebounds this season.

"It's been a long series, a long year, for me and the team," Millsap said after the Hawks were eliminated Tuesday in the Eastern Conference Finals. "Let things die down, cool off, relax and think about it a little bit. We are a family. This team is close. It will play a lot into the decision."

Hawks F Paul Millsap doubles up in elimination game loss
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(12:04 am ET) Hawks forward Paul Millsap fought through an injured shoulder to post a double-double in Tuesday night's 118-88 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The loss gave the Cavs a series sweep and advanced them to the NBA finals.

Millsap scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line. Millsap also brought down 10 rebounds and dished out five assists.

A report from Bleacher Report before Tuesday night's game stated Millsap may need surgery to repair his sprained right shoulder. Millsap's postseason concludes with the veteran averaging 15.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

LeBron James scores 23, leads Cavs to NBA finals
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/26/2015) Cavaliers forward LeBron James scored 23 points in Tuesday night's 118-88 victory over the Hawks, which gave Cleveland a series sweep in the Eastern Conference finals.

James and the Cavs have now advanced to the NBA finals.

James made 10 of 20 shots from the field, which included going 2 of 6 from behind the arc. Though he was the game's leading scorer, James also contributed nine rebounds and seven assists.

This marked James' third game in a row where he had at least nine rebounds.

James will now advance to an NBA finals for the fifth year in a row. He won two of the past four championships with the Heat. He also reached an NBA finals early in his career during his first stint with the Cavs.

Cavs G Kyrie Irving to start Game 4 of Eastern Conference finals
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/26/2015) Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving has been cleared and will start in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Hawks, the team announced.

However, Irving will be limited in terms of minutes on the court, according to Yahoo! Sports

Irving has been dealing with knee tendinitis that forced him to miss the previous two games against the Hawks. He will be placed on a 25-minute restriction. This means Matthew Dellavedova should still see plenty of playing time.

NBA confirms Flagrant 1 call for Rockets C Dwight Howard
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/26/2015) The NBA has confirmed that Rockets center Dwight Howard's foul on Andrew Bogut in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals was a Flagrant 1.

This means Howard will not be subject to any further discipline and will not be suspended.

Howard fouled Bogut with what appeared to be an elbow above the shoulders. Howard is averaging 16.2 points and 13.9 rebounds during the playoffs. He's recorded three consecutive double-doubles.
