Timberwolves F Thaddeus Young activated Wednesday

Young missed five games after the death of his mother. He has averaged 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 44.8 percent in seven games.

(6:47 pm ET) Timberwolves guard Mo Williams has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bucks, the team announced.

Williams is battling an illness that caused him to miss practice Monday and Tuesday. He has averaged 8.5 points and 5.9 rebounds while shooting 36.4 percent from the field in 12 games.


Hawks SF Thabo Sefolosha (illness) ruled out Wednesday

(6:33 pm ET) Hawks small forward Thabo Sefolosha will be inactive for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Sefolosha has been sent home for the day with flu-like symptoms. He'll get his chance to return Friday against New Orleans. Sefolosha has averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 36.6 percent from the field in 12 games.


Rockets' McHale: Dwight Howard, Patrick Beverley likely out Friday

(6:30 pm ET) Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Wednesday that center Dwight Howard and guard Patrick Beverley, both of whom have been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Kings, will likely remain sidelined Friday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

McHale also indicated that he'd like both players to practice before returning to game action, which likely leaves them as doubtful to play Saturday as well. The Rockets get three days off after the upcoming back-to-back before playing Wednesday, which could mark a return date for both players if they can practice in the interim.


Raptors PF Tyler Hansbrough remains out Wednesday

(6:27 pm ET) Raptors power forward Tyler Hansbrough will miss Wednesday's game against the Hawks as he continues to deal with a shoulder injury, TSN.ca reports.

Hansbrough will be missing his fourth straight game with the issue. However, he was deemed a gametime decision for Wednesday's matchup, so it's possible he'll be able to make his return Friday against the Mavericks.


Clippers Reggie Bullock starts with Matt Barnes out

(6:21 pm ET) Clippers guard Reggie Bullock will draw the start Wednesday as Matt Barnes has been ruled out with a calf strain, the team announced.

Bullock played 19 minutes Monday with Barnes sidelined but scored just three points. Barnes' next shot at playing will come Friday in Houston.


Pistons G Brandon Jennings out again Wednesday

Jennings will be missing his second straight game with a sprained thumb. His next chance to play comes Friday at home against Milwaukee.


Hornets' P.J. Hairston active, Gary Neal inactive Wednesday

Hairston was deemed probable to play Wednesday after missing the last four games while recovering from an ankle sprain. Neal was considered doubtful to play after injuring his shoulder in Monday's game.


Knicks start J.R. Smith in place of Carmelo Anthony Wednesday

(6:14 pm ET) Knicks coach Derek Fisher indicated that J.R. Smith will start in place of the injured Carmelo Anthony in Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, ESPNNewYork.com reports.

Anthony appears to be headed for another missed game Friday in Oklahoma City but may return Sunday against the Heat. He left Monday's game due to back spasms.


Mavs will not have Jameer Nelson or Raymond Felton

(6:05 pm ET) The Mavericks will be without Jameer Nelson and Raymond Felton on Wednesday against the Knicks.

Nelson is dealing with back spasms. Felton has an ankle injury. Nelson has averaged 7.6 points per game over 15 games. Felton injured his ankle during practice on Tuesday, though it isn't thought to be serious.
