Timberwolves C Nikola Pekovic runs at 80 percent Saturday

(12:21 am ET) Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders said that center Nikola Pekovic (ankle) ran on an antigravity treadmill at about 80 percent Saturday, the Star Tribune reports.

Saunders added that he hopes Pekovic will be cleared to run on his own weight after an MRI next week. The center had been dealing with both a wrist injury and an ankle issue, with the latter being re-aggravated in early December. He has limited to just nine games this season.


Timberwolves' Kevin Martin to be re-evaluated in two weeks

(12/27/2014) Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin had his injured wrist looked at by a surgeron last week and the injury appears to be healing normally, reports the Star Tribune.

Martin will have the wrist examined in two weeks to see the how the healing process has progressed. Martin has not played since fracturing his right wrist in late November. The injury was expected to keep him out for 6-8 weeks.


76ers guard Tony Wroten scores 20 points vs. Jazz

(12/27/2014) Tony Wroten was one of the few bright spots for the 76ers during a 88-71 loss to the Jazz Saturday.

Wroten came off the bench and led the team with 20 points on 8 of 17 shooting from the field. Wroten did struggle from the 3-point line, shooting 1 of 6. He also added six rebounds and two steals.

The 76ers next play Tuesday at Golden State.


Jazz forward Derrick Favors fills box score in win

(12/27/2014) Jazz forward Derrick Favors had one of his best all around games of the season to help the Jazz to a 88-71 victory over the 76ers Saturday.

Favors scored 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting and grabbed 15 rebounds to record his ninth double-double of the season. He also added three assists, three steals and four blocks.

The Jazz next play Monday at the Los Angeles Clippers.


Bucks forward Khris Middleton is lone bright spot in loss

(12/27/2014) Bucks forward Khris Middleton provided the team’s only positive performance during the Bucks’ 90-85 loss to the Hawks Saturday.

Middleton came off the bench and scored 21 points on 8 of 15 shooting including 5 of 8 from the 3-point line. No Bucks starter had more than 11 points in the game. Middleton also added five rebounds, one assist and one steal. The 21 points was the first time Middleton surpassed 20 points in a game since Dec. 3.

The Bucks next play Monday at Charlotte.


Jeff Teague leads Hawks to victory over the Bucks

(12/27/2014) Hawks guard Jeff Teague scored a game-high 25 points to help lead the Hawks to a 90-85 victory over the 76ers Saturday.

Teague shot 7 of 14 from the field including 1 of 4 from 3-point range. He was able to convert all 10 of his free-throw attempts. Teague also added eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal. It was the first time Teague scored 20 or more points in a game since Dec. 13 against the Magic.

The Hawks next play Tuesday against the Cavaliers.


76ers forward Nerlens Noel injures ankle Saturday

(12/27/2014) 76ers forward Nerlens Noel had to leave Saturday’s game against the Jazz after injuring his left ankle. Noel limped to the locker room, but he was able to return.

Nets PG Jarrett Jack scores team-high 22 vs. Pacers

(12/27/2014) Nets point guard Jarrett Jack scored a team-high 22 points on 10 of 15 shooting in his team's 110-85 loss to the Pacers Saturday.

Jack matched a season high with five turnovers in the blowout loss but also tallied six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in a season-high 39 minutes of action Saturday. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for the Nets, who will look to rebound Monday against the Kings.


Grizzlies guard Mike Conley scores 24 points in win

(12/27/2014) Grizzlies guard Mike Conley had one of his most efficient shooting games of the season to help lead the Grizzlies to a 103-95 victory over the Heat Saturday.

Conley scored a team-high 24 points on 7 of 12 shooting including 4 of 6 from the 3-point line. He also converted 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. Conley added three assists, two steals and one rebound. He has scored 20 or more points in three of his last four games.

Conley did injure his foot during the game, but it did not appear to be serious.

The Grizzlies next play Tuesday against the Spurs.


Pacers PG C.J. Watson just misses double-double Saturday

(12/27/2014) Pacers point guard C.J. Watson scored 17 points on 7 of 10 shooting, including 3 of 4 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 110-85 win over the Nets Saturday.

Watson just missed out on what would have been his first double-double of the season, racking up season highs of nine rebounds and three steals while also dishing out five assists in 30 minutes. The 17 points only follow a 23-point performance two weeks ago as his best scoring output of the season. Watson will look to keep rolling Monday against the Bulls.
