Mavericks PG Raymond Felton unlikely to play before Christmas

(7:26 pm ET) Mavericks point guard Raymond Felton is unlikely to make his season debut before Christmas, MavsOutsider.com reports.

Felton will miss Saturday's game and likely Monday and Tuesday as well. The team's first game after Christmas will be Friday against the Lakers. Felton is expected to fill a limited role once 100 percent healthy after the Mavericks acquired Rajon Rondo this week.


Hawks give Jeff Teague the red-light vs. Houston

(7:09 pm ET) The Hawks have ruled guard Jeff Teague out for Saturday’s game against the Rockets, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Teague will now have missed back-to-back games because of a hamstring injury. Dennis Schroder will get the start in his place.

Atlanta is a 5-point road underdog at Houston.


Report: Nets, Kings discussing Deron Williams trade

(6:54 pm ET) The Nets and Kings are discussing a trade built around Nets point guard Deron Williams, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The talks have centered on Kings guard Darren Collison and forwards Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson as part of a package for the impact point guard. The Kings want Nets center Mason Plumlee to be a part of the deal as well, but the Nets consider him a key piece for the future, according to the report.

Deron Williams is owed more than $43 million through the end of the 2017 season. He has averaged 15.6 points and 6.8 assists in 25 games.


Rockets' Corey Brewer, Alexey Shved unavailable Saturday

(6:25 pm ET) Rockets small forward Corey Brewer and point guard Alexey Shved will be unavailable for Saturday's game against the Hawks, the team announced. Both players were acquired in a three-team deal involving the Timberwolves and 76ers Friday.


Wizards G Martell Webster on track for late-December return

(6:01 pm ET) Wizards guard Martell Webster appears on track to make a late-December return, according to Comcast SportsNet Washington. Webster has not appeared in a game this season and is working his way back from a third back surgery this offseason. Washington has six games remaining in December. He'll likely be on a minutes restriction once he returns.

Trail Blazers F Nicolas Batum set to return at New Orleans

(5:54 pm ET) Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum (wrist, knee) will return to the floor Saturday night against New Orleans, per the Oregonian. Batum sat out Friday's game against the Spurs after getting injured in a nasty spill Wednesday night. He's averaging 8.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 22 games.

Portland is a 5 1/2-point road underdog on Saturday.


Hornets' Lance Stephenson most likely out through Christmas

(5:38 pm ET) Hornets coach Steve Clifford told reporters Saturday guard Lance Stephenson will most likely be out through Christmas.

Stephenson is dealing with a pelvis sprain and he would miss the Hornets’ next three games if he doesn't play until after Christmas. His first opportunity to play after Christmas would be Dec. 26 at Oklahoma City.

Guard Gerald Henderson replaced Stephenson in the starting lineup during Friday’s win over the 76ers and scored 11 points and dished out four assists in 32 minutes.


Pelicans G Tyreke Evans gets the green light vs. Portland

(5:27 pm ET) Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans will play Saturday night against the Trail Blazers, according to the team's official website. Evans is dealing with a sore knee which caused him to miss Thursday's game against the Rockets. He will wear a protective sleeve over his right knee. In 24 games, Evans is averaging 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

The Pelicans went from a 5 1/2-point to a 6-point home favorite vs. Portland.


Lakers F Wesley Johnson expected to play vs. Kings

(5:07 pm ET) Lakers forward Wesley Johnson missed another practice on Saturday with a stomach issue, but is expected to play Sunday against the Kings, according to the team's official website. Johnson has appeared in all 26 games this season for Los Angeles, averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 42.5 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from downtown over that span.

Knicks F Carmelo Anthony scores 25 points in loss

(4:55 pm ET) Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony returned from a one-game absence and scored a team-high 25 points, but it was not enough as the Knicks fell to the Suns 99-90 Saturday.

Anthony missed Thursday’s game against the Bulls while dealing with knee soreness. He shot 9 of 19 from the floor, but was 1 of 4 from the 3-point line. He also added 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. Anthony also recorded three steals, three assists and one block.

The Knicks next play Sunday at Toronto and Anthony indicated he will play despite the discomfort in his knee, reports Newsday.
