Monta Ellis 'very doubtful' for Mavericks on Sunday

(1:07 pm ET) Monta Ellis was still on crutches on Saturday morning as he dealt with a calf injury. 

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Ellis was very unlikely to play on Sunday. "He appears to be very doubtful for tomorrow. We don’t think it’s serious. But we are concerned," he said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.


Thaddeus Young out for Nets on Sunday

(12:59 pm ET) The Nets have officially ruled Thaddeus Young out for Sunday's game at the Lakers. 

Young was originally listed as questionable with a left knee strain suffered in Wednesday's game. 

Young is averaging 14.1 points this season. 


Deron Williams doesn't practice with Nets on Saturday

(12:53 pm ET) Nets guard Deron Williams didn't practice with the team on Saturday, due to illness and was not in the arena. His status for Sunday's game at the Lakers is unknown. 

Williams is averaging 12.8 points and 6.3 assists this season. 


Doug McDermott out for Bulls on Saturday

(12:39 pm ET) Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said that Doug McDermott suffered a setback with his back problems and will be inactive for Saturday's game against the Knicks, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls are 17.5-point favorites at home. 


Dante Exum leaves Friday's Jazz game with illness

Coach Quin Snyder said that Exum was benched after vomiting during halftime. He added that he was surprised Exum was able to play at all, per CBSSports.com's Matt Moore


Heat's Dwyane Wade has 'a lot of fluid' on knee

(10:26 am ET) Dwyane Wade returned to the Heat lineup on Friday after missing a game with a bruised left knee, but that doesn't mean the knee problems are over. 

Wade said, "I have a lot of fluid. In a perfect world, I would like to get some fluid out," per the Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman

Wade will return to Miami on Saturday and meet with doctors to see if the knee can be drained. 

"Hopefully, I'll be better Sunday," he said. The Heat host the Pistons on Sunday. 


Suns forward Marcus Morris posts double-double in losing effort

(12:43 am ET) Suns forward Marcus Morris scored 19 points on on 8 of 19 shooting from the field, including 3 of 9 from 3-point range, in Phoenix's 87-81 loss to the Trail Blazers Friday.

Morris also pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, leading to his third double-double in the last four games and fourth on the season. He added three assists and one steal to his totals.


Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge scores 27 in win Friday

(12:40 am ET) Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 points on 13 of 26 shooting from the field and 1 of 4 from the free throw line in Portland's 87-81 win over the Suns Friday.

Aldridge also pulled down nine rebounds and added one steal and a block to his totals. It was Aldridge's third straight 20-plus point game seventh in his last eight games.


Mavericks guard Monta Ellis picks up calf injury Friday

(3/27/2015) Mavericks shooting guard Monta Ellis suffered a right calf injury during Friday's game against the Spurs, but managed to play through it.

"He was kicked or kneed in the right calf," coach Rick Carlisle said after the game. "It's very sore but we don't know the extent of it. We'll see how he feels in the morning and go from there."

Ellis scored 10 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field and pulled down two rebounds in Dallas' 94-76 blowout loss to the Spurs.


Jazz center Derrick Favors dealing with back spasms, doesn't return

(3/27/2015) Jazz center Derrick Favors is dealing with back spasms and left Friday's game against the Nuggets. Favors scored seven points on 2 of 9 shooting from the field with five rebounds before leaving the game at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

It is unknown how long the injury will keep Favors sidelined.
