by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12:54 pm ET) The Mavericks will be without guard Devin Harris for the second straight game Friday, according to the team's website.

Harris will not play Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers because of soreness in his right lower leg which also caused him to miss Wednesday’s win over the Wizards.

Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee indicates he will play Friday
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(12:46 pm ET) After missing Wednesday’s game against the Raptors with an illness, Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee said he will play Friday Boston, reports the Boston Globe.

Lee is averaging a career-high 14.9 points and 2.3 assists through nine games.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:58 am ET) Nets veteran forward Andrei Kirilenko will not accompany the team to its next two road games due to personal reasons. The Nets play at Oklahoma City on Friday and San Antonio on Saturday.

Kirilenko has played sparingly this season, averaging just five minutes on the court in seven games.

Hawks will have F DeMarre Carroll back in action vs. Detroit
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:47 am ET) The Hawks will have forward DeMarre Carroll active and likely in the starting lineup Friday night against the Pistons, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Carrol was back at practice this week after missing four straight games with a groin injury. He is averaging 12.0 points and 6.3 rebounds through his first six games played this season.

Cavaliers superstar James: Mediocrity testing my patience
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11:31 am ET) Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has indicated that his team's 5-5 start is testing his patience.

"I have a low tolerance for things of this nature so it's something I'm working on as well," he told the Northeast Ohio Media Group. "I'm a winner and I want to win and I want to win now. It's not tomorrow, it's not down the line. I want to win now."

James is coming off a disappointing performance against San Antonio in which his turnover with five seconds remaining prevented him from attempting a game-tying or game-winning shot.

Magic SG Evan Fournier (heel) could return Friday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:00 am ET) Magic shooting guard Evan Fournier told reporters he "thinks he can play" Friday night against Charlotte, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Fournier sat out Wednesday's game against the Clippers because of a heel injury. He is averaging 17.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds through his first 12 games of the season.

Report: Knicks' Quincy Acy received cortisone shot for injured wrist
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:57 am ET) Knicks small forward Quincy Acy recently had a cortisone shot, but is still not fully recovered from a sprained right wrist, reports the New York Post. Acy returned to action Wednesday against the Pistons, but had a hard time catching passes because of the injury.

Acy is averaging 5.0 points and 5.9 rebounds through his first 10 games, including five starts for New York.

76ers fiddling with backcourt combo of Wroten, Carter-Williams
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10:48 am ET) Though the 76ers have moved high-scoring guard Tony Wroten to the sixth man role to accommodate 2013-14 Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams in their starting lineup, Brett Brown is seeking ways to get both on the court simultaneously, but he wants at least one of them on the court throughout games.

"I think for balance purposes, that's how it needs to be," Brown told NBA.com in regard to bringing Wroten off the bench. "Because they are two of our best players, they need to be on the court. ... Inevitably it's the direction we're going to have to grow it."

Wroten and Carter-Williams have improved their outside shooting this season. They combined to hit a meager 24 percent from three-point range last season but are up to a more respectable 31.4 percent this year.

Timberwolves' Flip Saunders: Corey Brewer too valuable to trade
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:07 am ET) Although the Cavaliers and Rockets are reportedly interested in landing Timberwolves swingman Corey Brewer, coach Flip Saunders doesn't appear ready to make a trade. According to the Associated Press, Saunders told reporters that Brewer is "too valuable" to trade at the moment.

Brewer is 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists through his first 10 games, including two starts. He's shooting 48.7 percent from the field over that span.

Bulls G Kirk Hinrich dealing with chest contusion
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1:39 am ET) Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich had X-rays on his chest after Thursday's loss to the Kings, but the tests came back clean, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Hinrich has been diagnosed with a chest contusion, and he's likely day-to-day moving forward. However, the Bulls have a quick turnaround, playing in Portland Friday, and it's possible the guard misses at least that game. He scored nine points on 3 of 11 shooting while kicking in seven assists in 29 minutes Thursday.
