Rockets C Dwight Howard will see minutes increase Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(12:12 pm ET) Center Dwight Howard, who is scheduled to play in his second game back Friday after missing the previous 26 with a knee injury, will see a bump in his time on the court, per the Houston Chronicle.

Howard, who scored four points in 16 minutes on Wednesday, said he will play around 20 minutes Friday as the Rockets battle the Timberwolves.

Pistons C Greg Monroe says he'll play before season ends
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(12:08 pm ET) Pistons center Greg Monroe, who has missed five straight games with a knee injury, said he does expect to play again before the season is over, per the Detroit Free Press

Monroe, who will be an unrestricted free agent after this year, said he will "definitely" play at some point over the Pistons' final 11 games of the season.

However, the center, who is averaging 16.0 points and 10.4 rebounds, is questionable for Friday's contest against the Magic.

Heat rule Whiteside out; Wade, Andersen doubtful
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:51 am ET) Heat center Hassan Whiteside, forward Chris Andersen and guard Dwyane Wade did not appear to take part in Friday morning's shootaround session. Coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that Whiteside will "definitely" not play Friday night at Atlanta, and left a "slim chance" for Wade and Andersen to play, per the Palm Beach Post.

Miami is a 9 1/2-point underdog at Atlanta.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:58 am ET) The Nets have signed Earl Clark to a 10-day contract on Friday, per the team's official website. Clark spent training camp with the Rockets and was cut before the start of the 2014-15 season. He spent this season for the Shandong Lions of Chinese Basketball Association.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:40 am ET) The Pistons recalled forward Quincy Miller from the NBA D-League on Friday, per the team's official website. Miller scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a D-League game Wednesday night.

Report: Clippers yet to re-sign Nate Robinson due to knee issue
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:11 am ET) Nate Robinson's second 10-day contract with the Clippers expired on Thursday, and the team has not re-signed him for the remainder of the season due to concerns over his knee injury, which kept him sidelined Wednesday night against New York, a league spokesman told the Los Angeles Daily News.

Robinson is averaging 5.7 points and 2.3 assists through his first nine games as a reserve for the Clippers this season. He is also shooting 33.3 percent from the floor over that span.

Clifford: Al Jefferson is not going to be 100 percent the rest of the way
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:05 am ET) Hornets coach Steve Clifford told reporters that center Al Jefferson will remain hobbled the rest of the way due to right knee soreness, while his team fights for a playoff spot, according to the Charlotte Observer.

"Al is not going to be 100 percent here the rest of the year. He is just not," Clifford said.

Jefferson was forced out of Monday's game against the Bulls in the second half due to knee soreness.

"I told him in the third quarter I don't want to have another thing like last season where you missed three weeks, so I'm not putting you back in," Clifford said of that game vs. the Bulls. "He argued a little bit because we were right there. But when I see him limping around, I go back to last time. We can't afford to lose him for three weeks."

After the game, he had some fluid drained from his sore knee that offered some relief and allowed him to play Wednesday against the Nets. He is averaging 17.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season.

Jefferson is probable for Friday's clash against the Wizards, as his team sits 1/2 game behind the Celtics for the eighth and final playoff spot. Charlotte is a 3 1/2-point underdog, according to VegasInsider.com.

Heat G Goran Dragic: Back spams have slown me down lately
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9:08 am ET) Despite his fast play on the court, Heat guard Goran Dragic admitted again on Thursday that he's feeling slow lately because of back spasms, per the Palm Beach Post.

"It's that time of the season," Dragic said. "Your body takes a pounding. We’re 70 games into the regular season. I'm having problems with my back. Sometimes after a game, the next day it's really sore. But that's normal."

Dragic was traded from Phoenix to Miami before the trade deadline. In his first 16 games with the Heat, he is averaging 17.0 points, 5.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. He is shooting 52.8 percent from the field over that span.

Wizards' DeJuan Blair (personal) expected to miss Friday's game
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12:26 am ET) Wizards power forward DeJuan Blair is not expected to be available for Friday's game against the Hornets due to personal reasons, CSNWashington.com reports.

It'll be the second straight game Blair has not been available. He has averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in 25 games.

Pacers SF C.J. Miles puts up 26 points in loss to Bucks
by Dave Peters | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2015) Although the Pacers fell to the Bucks 111-107, small forward C.J. Miles had a strong scoring performance on Thursday.

Miles scored 26 points in 32 minutes, which his double his season average. He also had three rebounds and an assist.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel made no excuses for his team's performance in the loss.

''No excuse,'' Vogel said. ''We played six straight teams with back-to-backs. Some of them came in with a lot of energy. I thought we played with energy but we just weren't very good early.''

''You can't spot a team 23 points and expect to win,'' Vogel said. ''I'm proud of our fight and how they got back into it but you can't start that way.''
