Lakers' Young, Black unlikely to play Sunday at New York

(12:44 pm ET) While Lakers guard Nick Young and center Tarik Black are available to play in Sunday's game against the Knicks, coach Byron Scott said they are unlikely to play, the team announced.

Scott cited a lack of practice time as to why he wants to keep Young and Black out of the game. Guard Wayne Ellington has been starting in place of Young.

The Lakers are 3-point underdogs.


Knicks rule Stoudemire, Aldrich out vs. Lakers; Wear questionable

(12:39 pm ET) The Knicks announced forward Amar'e Stoudemire and center Cole Aldrich have been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Lakers.

It will be the third straight game Stoudemire has missed while dealing with an ankle sprain. A shin injury will cause Aldrich to miss his second straight game. Forward Jason Smith is expected to receive an increased role in Sunday's game.

Meanwhile, forward Travis Wear is dealing with a hip injury and is listed as questionable.

The Knicks are 3-point favorites.


Wolves list Rubio, Williams, LaVine as questionable at Dallas

(12:28 pm ET) The Timberwolves listed Ricky Rubio (ankle), Mo Williams (hip) and Zach LaVine (ankle) as questionable for Monday's game at Dallas.

Rubio has not played since November with a severe ankle sprain. LaVine missed Saturday's game with an ankle issue, while Williams has missed the last two games because of a hip injury.


Celtics' Tyler Zeller to start in place of Jared Sullinger on Sunday

(12:26 pm ET) The Celtics announced center Tyler Zeller will start in place of forward Jared Sullinger for Sunday's game against the Heat.

Sullinger was reportedly stuck in traffic and was late to Sunday morning's walk-through. The Celtics are 4 1/2-point favorites.


Heat rule Luol Deng out of Sunday's game at Boston

(11:43 am ET) Heat forward Luol Deng has been ruled out of Sunday's game at Boston.

It will be the third straight game Deng has missed while dealing with a calf injury. Coach Erik Spoelstra said Deng was close to returning, but has to be 100 percent before he returns. Forwards Danny Granger and James Ennis are expected to see an increased role.

The Heat are 3 1/2-point underdogs.


Report: Hawks' DeMarre Carroll likely to have MRI on Achilles

(10:41 am ET) As Hawks forward DeMarre Carroll continues to be bothered by an Achilles injury, he will likely have an MRI to help diagnosis the problem, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Carroll has missed the last two games while dealing with the injury. His next chance to play will be Monday at New Orleans.


Celtics recall James Young, Andre Dawkins from NBADL

Young and Dawkins will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Heat.


Knicks recall Cleanthony Early from NBADL on Sunday

(10:06 am ET) The Knicks announced forward Cleanthony Early has been recalled from the NBA Development League on Sunday.

In 15 games for the Knicks, Early is averaging 4.5 points and 1.9 rebounds.


Warriors PG Stephen Curry scores team-high 25 vs. Suns

(12:56 am ET) Warriors point guard Stephen Curry scored a team-high 25 points on 9 of 23 shooting, including 4 of 9 shooting from three-point range, in his team's 106-87 win over the Suns Saturday.

After scoring 32 points Friday, Curry was able to deliver his second straight game with at least 25 points after not reaching that scoring level in any of his previous five games. He also chipped in seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block in 37 minutes of action. The Warriors will match up with the Kings Tuesday.


Suns PF Markieff Morris doubles up vs. Warriors

(12:52 am ET) Suns power forward Markieff Morris scored a team-high 17 points on 7 of 16 shooting, including 2 of 4 shooting from three-point range, while grabbing 11 rebounds in his team's 106-87 loss to the Warriors Saturday.

Morris was able to turn in back-to-back double-doubles for the first time this season in his last two game, though he has just three of them for the month of January. He also dished out two assists in 31 minutes Saturday. The Suns will square off with the Grizzlies Monday.
