Sixers' Jason Richardson hoping to play before All-Star break

(6:44 pm ET) 76ers guard Jason Richardson is hoping to come back and play some before the All-Star break.

"I want to play a game or two before  the All-Star break," Richardson said. "Hopefully it happens. If not, it'll definitely be the first game after AS break (Feb 20)."

Richardson is recovering from a stress fracture in his foot, which has kept him out all season. He missed all of last season as well with a knee injury.

Heat's Dwyane Wade not traveling with the team initially on road trip

(6:29 pm ET) Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will not initially travel with the team for their upcoming four-game road trip, coach Erik Spoelstra said pregame Friday.

Wade is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, which will keep him out of Friday's game and potentially longer. However, Spoelstra left open the possibility of Wade joining the team at some point during the road trip.

He is averaging 21.4 points and 5.4 assists in 35 games this season.


Pelicans PF Anthony Davis (adductor) out Friday vs. Clippers

(6:29 pm ET) Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis will not play in Friday's game against the Clippers due to an adductor strain, the Orange County Register reports.

Davis suffered the"grade 1" adductor strain in Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets but was able to briefly return to the game in the fourth quarter. He was scheduled to receive treatment before determining his status for Friday's game. Davis has averaged 24.5 points and 10.4 rebounds in 42 games.

The Pelicans are 5 1/2-point home underdogs Friday.


Heat PF Chris Andersen available to play Friday

(6:22 pm ET) Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said that power forward Chris Andersen is available for Friday's game against the Mavericks, the Associated Press reports.

Andersen missed Tuesday's game while nursing elbow and back injuries. He has averaged 5.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 29 games while shooting 60.5 percent from the field.

The Heat are 8 1/2-point home underdogs Friday.


Raptors PF James Johnson (hamstring) out Friday

(6:13 pm ET) Raptors power forward James Johnson will not play Friday due to a right hamstring strain, the team announced.

Johnson has seen limited action over the last few games, and he hasn't topped 11 minutes since Jan. 16. He's averaged 7.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 41 games while shooting 59 percent from the field.

The Raptors are 7 1/2-point favorites in Brooklyn Friday.


Pacers' C.J. Watson (feet) likely to deal with soreness all season

(5:56 pm ET) Pacers coach Frank Vogel said Thursday that point guard C.J. Watson will likely spend the remainder of the season playing through soreness in his feet, the Associated Press reports.

Watson started and played 36 minutes in Thursday's win over the Knicks, scoring just seven points on 3 of 9 shooting. He also racked up six rebounds, five assists and one steal. The Pacers are set to host the Kings Saturday.


Timberwolves PG Mo Williams (hip) ruled out Friday

(5:49 pm ET) Timberwolves point guard Mo Williams will not play in Friday's game against the 76ers due to a hip injury, the team announced.

Williams also missed Wednesday's game due to personal reasons. He was expected to rejoin the team Thusday but will be unavailable for a second straight game while dealing with hip soreness. Zach LaVine, who scored 17 points on 7 of 9 shooting while dishing out six assists Wednesday, draws the start in place of Williams, who has averaged 12.5 points and 6.4 assists in 36 games.

The Timberwolves are 4 1/2-point favorites in Philadelphia Friday.


Hawks' DeMarre Carroll officially out Friday against Portland

(5:27 pm ET) Hawks small forward DeMarre Carroll will miss Friday's game against the Trail Blazers with an Achilles' injury, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Carroll is "a little banged up" and missed practice Thursday for treatment. Thabo Sefolosha will likely start in Carroll's place. The team confirmed the report just before tipoff.

The Hawks are currently 6 1/2-point favorites against the Trail Blazers.
