Raptors' Lowry, DeRozan on their recent struggles: We're 'both trash'
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:46 am ET) Raptors guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan owned up to their recent struggles, describing both of their games as of last as "trash," per NBA.com.

"Me? I'm trash," Lowry said following Thursday's practice. "I'm trying to figure it out right now, to be honest with you. I don't know (how to fix it), that's why I'm in here, working hard and trying to figure out what to do to get myself back on track."

The 28-year-old Lowry, who earned his first trip to the All-Star game in his nine-year career, started the season shooting 42.8 percent from the field, and 33.5 percent from downtown through his first 45 games. In his last 12 games, he's knocked down only 36.3 percent of his field foals, and 26.2 percent from downtown.

"Right next to the trash can (that Lowry's) is. Both trash," DeRozan said.

DeRozan, who missed 21 straight games due to groin injury earlier this season, is shooting 39.4 percent from the field this season. He is a career 44.2 percent shooter.

Bulls' Derrick Rose has meniscectomy, could return 4-6 weeks
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11:13 am ET) Bulls guard Derrick Rose underwent a meniscectomy in his right knee, the team announced on Friday. general manager Gar Forman called teh procedure minor and said Rose was able to walk out of the hospital. Forman said that depending on the rehab, he could return to action in four-to-six weeks, per the Chicago Tribune.

This was the second meniscus surgery Rose has undergone in as many years. Last year, Rose had his meniscus repaired or reattached, which kept him sidelined the remainder of the 2013-14 season. This time around, he will have a surgical removal of all or a part of his torn meniscus, which will give him as shorter rehabilitation timetable, but may cause long-term issues like arthritis or cysts down the road.

Rose averaged 18.4 points and 5.0 assists in 46 games this season before going down with the injury. Executive vice president of basketball operations John Paxson remained upbeat about Rose's chances of playing again this season.

"Nothing is an easy procedure, but our anticipation is that there's an area that's going to get taken care of and the hope is that he will (play this season)," Paxson said before the procedure, per the Tribune.

Report: Ray Allen won't play for the Cavaliers this season
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10:38 am ET) Although his playing future remains uncertain, if Ray Allen does return to the NBA it won't be with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Windhorst of ESPN said in a radio appearance, per ESPN Cleveland.

Allen's camp was in contact with several teams this season for his threat behind arc, However, with approximately 70 percent of the regular season already in the books, there's a growing belief around the league that the veteran 39-year-old guard will not return for a 19th season. Allen averaged a career-low 9.6 points in 73 games with the Heat in 2013-14. If he does decide to play this season, it will likely come for a championship contender.

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook explodes for triple-double
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(1:48 am ET) Thunder guard Russell Westbrook posted a triple-double on Thursday against the Suns.

Westbrook shot 12-38 from the field. He went just 1-10 from beyond the arc, though. Westbrook was able to make up for that by hitting 14 of his 16 free throw attempts. He finished with a team-high 39 points. Westbrook didn't do all the scoring himself. He made sure to involve his teammates, dishing out 11 assists. He also pulled down 11 rebounds, picking up his fourth triple-double this season.

Westbrook appeared to tweak his ankle late in overtime, but it did not appear to be serious.
