by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7:04 pm ET) Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant will miss Friday's game against the Mavericks in order to rest, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Bryant will be missing his third straight game due to general soreness and fatigue. He's averaged 24.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 27 games. His next chance to play is Sunday at home against the Suns.

The Lakers are a 12-point underdog in Dallas Friday.

Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis set to play Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6:56 pm ET) Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki and shooting guard Monta Ellis will play Friday against the Lakers, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Both players missed Friday's shootaround while recuperating from illnesses, leaving their availability Friday in doubt. However, both players will be active and presumably fill their regular roles, health willing.

The Mavericks are a 12-point favorite at home against the Lakers Friday.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6:37 pm ET) Warriors center Festus Ezeli (ankle) will wear a walking boot for three days before being re-evaluated next week, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Ezeli will miss his second straight game Saturday after an MRI confirmed he is dealing with an ankle sprain. The Warriors play two games next week, facing the 76ers and Raptors at home on Tuesday and Friday, respectively.

Grizzles' Zach Randolph out, Tony Allen in Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6:32 pm ET) Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Rockets, while point guard Tony Allen (eye) is ready to return to action, the Commercial Appeal reports.

Randolph is missing his second straight game with the knee injury, and he's also likely to sit out Saturday against the Heat in Miami. Allen returns from a three-game absence caused by a corneal abrasion.

The Grizzlies are a 2-point favorite at home against the Rockets Friday.

Thunder SF Kevin Durant takes part in shootaround Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6:27 pm ET) Thunder small forward Kevin Durant was able to participate in part of the team's shootaround Friday morning, ESPN.com reports.

Durant has been ruled out for Friday's game, making it his fifth straight game he's missed with an ankle injury. However, the news that he's able to see action during shootaround could mean he's close to returning to game action. He's averaged 22.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in just nine games this season.

The Thunder are a 6 1/2-point favorite at home against the Hornets Friday.

Cavaliers PG Kyrie Irving reverses course, won't play Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(6:22 pm ET) Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the Magic, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Irving was scheduled to be available Friday after dealing with a minor knee injury in Thursday's game, in which he played 42 minutes while scoring 25 points. However, he was ruled out after going through pregame workouts Saturday. The Cavaliers will start Matthew Dellavedova in place of the injured point guard.

The Cavaliers are a 4 1/2-point favorite in Orlando for Friday's game.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5:09 pm ET) Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been added to the injury report for the Friday game against Phoenix with Gastroenteritis. He has been deemed as questionable. His loss would be a blow - he is averaging 26 points in three games since returning from an injury on Dec. 18.

Definitely absent for Sacramento are guard Ramon Sessions (back) and center Ryan Hollins (personal).
