In three games for the Pelicans, Smith has yet to score a point.


Mavericks recall guard Ricky Ledo from NBADL

Ledo has yet to play for the Mavericks this season.


Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans expects to play Saturday

(12:26 pm ET) Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans told reporters he plans to play Saturday against the Trail Blazers, reports NBA.com.

Evans is dealing with a sore knee which caused him to miss Thursday’s game against the Rockets. Evans said he has been dealing with the issue all season, but an MRI just revealed a bone bruise.

"I just have to keep getting ice and treatment," Evans said. "Just trying to take care of it and get it right."

In 24 games, Evans is averaging 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

The Pelicans are 5 ½-point favorites.


Report: Rockets list Dwight Howard as probable vs. Hawks

(12:18 pm ET) Rockets center Dwight Howard is dealing with a sore shoulder, but is listed as probable for Saturday’s game against the Hawks, reports the Houston Chronicle.

In 13 games, Howard is averaging 19.6 points and 11.9 rebounds. 

The Rockets are 5-point favorites.


Report: Hawks recall Mike Muscala from NBADL

(12:06 pm ET) Hawks forward Mike Muscala has been recalled from the NBA Development League Saturday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In eight games for the Hawks, Muscala is averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds. The Hawks play at Houston Saturday.


Knicks rule Amar'e Stoudemire, J.R. Smith out vs. Suns

(11:33 am ET) The Knicks will be without forward Amar'e Stoudemire and guard J.R. Smith for Saturday’s game against the Suns.

While Stoudemire will not play due to rest, Smith is dealing with a heel injury which will cause him to miss his sixth straight game.

Guard Tim Hardaway Jr. is expected to receive more playing time because of Smith’s absence. Hardaway Jr. scored 23 points in 40 minutes Thursday while Smith sat.

With Stouedmire resting, center Cole Aldrich is expected to take Stoudemire’s starting spot. In 16 games, Aldrich is averaging 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.

The Knicks are 6 1/2-point underdogs.


Knicks expect Carmelo Anthony to play Saturday

(11:24 am ET) The Knicks are expecting forward Carmelo Anthony to be available to play Saturday against the Suns.

Anthony missed Thursday’s game against the Bulls with soreness in his knee and was listed as questionable for Saturdays’ game.

The Knicks are 6 1/2-point underdogs.


Lakers PF Ed Davis scores season-high 18 points vs. Thunder

(1:17 am ET) Lakers power forward Ed Davis scored a season-high 18 points on 8 of 10 shooting in his team's 104-103 loss to the Thunder Friday.

Davis followed up a zero-point performance Monday with his best game of the season, delivering nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 32 minutes while making his sixth straight start. The Lakers will move forward to face the Kings Sunday.


Thunder PG Reggie Jackson scores 25 points vs. Lakers

(1:13 am ET) Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson scored 25 points on 9 of 15 shooting, including 3 of 5 shooting from behind the arc, in his team's 104-103 win over the Lakers Friday.

Jackson had a total of 24 points in his last four games before turning on the jets Friday, and his 25 points marked his best scoring performance since Nov. 12. He also kicked in five assists, three rebounds and one block in 36 minutes off the bench. The Thunder will square off with the Pelicans Sunday.


Thunder PG Russell Westbrook doubles up vs. Lakers

(1:10 am ET) Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook scored a team-high 31 points on 9 of 22 shooting from the field and 13 of 13 shooting from the free-throw line while dishing out a season-high 10 assists in his team's 104-103 win over the Lakers Friday.

Westbrook's first double-double of the season comes on a night in which he posted his third straight 30-point effort as his team bounced back from a loss the previous night. He also recorded five rebounds and one steal in 36 minutes of action. The point guard will look to keep rolling Sunday against the Pelicans.
