Hornets forward Cody Zeller out again Friday at the Wizards
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(5:42 pm ET) Hornets forward Cody Zeller will miss Friday's game against the Wizards with a shoulder injury, reports the Charlotte Observer.

Zeller, who has missed the last three games with the injury, has played just one of the team's last eight games. He is averaging 7.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season.

The Hornets are currently 4-point underdogs against Washington.

Magic C DeWayne Dedmon (ankle) out Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(5:38 pm ET) Magic center DeWayne Dedmon will not play in Friday's game against the Pistons due to an ankle injury, per the Orlando Sentinel

Dedmon had recently returned to the Magic lineup Wednesday and played 26 minutes in his first action since missing three games with the same injury.

In 51 games, he is averaging 3.5 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Beal game-time decision for Wizards, Humphries out
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(5:25 pm ET) Wizards guard Bradley Beal (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Friday's contest against the Hornets, while forward Kris Humphries (groin) will be out of the lineup once again, according to The Washington Post.

Beal sprained his ankle in Wednesday's loss and was held out of Thursday's practice as a precaution. He did go through shootaround Friday but Wizards coach Randy Wittman said no decision would be made until shortly before tipoff.

Humphries will miss his 15th straight contest.

Hawks C Al Horford working way out of slump
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(4:55 pm ET) Hawks center Al Horford has slowed down a bit from the All-Star pace he put up in the first half of the season, but feels confident that he can find his touch again, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Horford was shooting more than 54 percent prior to the break, but in the second half of the season, his FG percentage has dipped down to 46.5 percent and seen his points average fall to 12.8 points.

"The thing is, my shots have been feeling good," Horford said. "For some reason, they just aren’t going. I’m going to stay aggressive and do what I do. I know everything will be fine."

Rockets recall center Clint Capela from NBA Development League
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(4:18 pm ET) The Rockets announced Friday that they have recalled center Clint Capela from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. In 37 games with Rio Grande, Capela averaged 16.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks. Capela has played in six games with the Rockets this season, but has yet to score a point.

Rockets F Terrence Jones (lung) making strides
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:45 pm ET) Rockets forward Terrence Jones, who has been out of the lineup with a partially collapsed lung, rode a stationary bike Friday, the first step in his recovery, per the Houston Chronicle

Jones could be ready to start on-court workouts next week, when the Rockets return from a road trip. He hasn't played since March 19, after a collision with Denver's Kenneth Faried led to the injury, which included Jones spending two days in the hospital.

In 25 games this season, Jones is averaging 12.4 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Bulls F Doug McDermott (back) questionable Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:30 pm ET) Bulls forward Doug McDermott remains questionable for Friday's game due to back soreness, according to the team's radio announcer. McDermott did not play Wednesday due to the ailment. In 35 games this season, McDermott is averaging 3.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.

Thunder F Kevin Durant to have foot surgery, miss rest of season
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3:02 pm ET) The Thunder released a statement from General Manager Sam Presti on Friday, announcing that forward Kevin Durant will undergo another foot surgery and miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

After consulting with two specialists this week, the team and Durant came to the conclusion that a bone graft procedure would be the best approach to repair the Jones fracture that Durant suffered.

Dr. Martin O'Malley will perform the surgery next week in New York and Durant is expected to return to basketball activities in four-to-six months. Durant averaged 25.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game before the injury.

Aldridge, Batum, Kaman all probable for Blazers on Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(2:51 pm ET) The Trail Blazers announced that forwards LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum, and center Chris Kaman are all probable for Friday night's contest against the Suns, and according to The Oregonian, all three will play, with Batum and Aldridge starting.

Aldridge has been dealing with an injury to his left index finger, but he played Wednesday and scored 19 points. Batum has been battling a back issue, which kept him the Blazers' last two contests. And Kaman has a shoulder strain that has kept him out of action for the last three contests.

The Trail Blazers are 2 1/2-point favorites.

Jazz F Gordon Hayward probable for Friday
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(2:29 pm ET) Gordon Hayward participated in shootaround Friday and the forward remains probable for the Jazz's contest against the Suns, per the team's radio announcer. Hayward has missed the last two games while recovering from an AC sprain.
