Preseason Outlook

Carter to see minutes boost?: The Nuggets announced Sunday that Chauncey Billups (groin) will miss the team's next two games against Dallas and Sacramento in order to help his strained groin heal. The earliest he'd be able to play would be Jan. 2 at Utah. Ty Lawson and Anthony Carter should see more minutes in his absence.

Fantasy Analysis

Billups will be too risky to start in most leagues for Week 10 (Dec. 28-Jan. 3). In a best-case scenario, he'd be available for two games so there is some reason to consider taking a risk on him in average-based play, but we recommend going with healthy alternatives where possible. The Nuggets have four days off after Monday's game. Lawson and Carter are only to be considered options as injury replacements in deeper leagues.
