Hornets release Jones: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Hornets released forward Solomon Jones instead of signing him for the remainder of the season, the team confirmed Thursday. Jones went scoreless in 11 minutes after starting in place of injured forward Gustavo Ayon in Wednesday night's 99-98 loss to the Kings. With Solomon's second, 10-day contract expiring after Wednesday night's game, the Hornets had to either re-sign him for the remainder of the season or release him under NBA rules. In 11 games, Solomon averaged 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Hornets. Jones is in his sixth season in the league and was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers last month before the Hornets extended him a 10-day contract. (Updated 03/08/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Jones has minimal Fantasy value even with the Hornets. Ignore him in all leagues now that he's without a team. (Updated 03/08/2012).
