Fantasy Analysis
This is just another chapter in what has been a dreadful season for Thomas thus far. The 25-year-old is averaging just 5.5 points and 3.8 rebounds on the year and has had a hard time staying on the floor due to injuries and inconsistent production. He even got into a altercation with coach Paul Silas in the locker room a few weeks ago and both parties had to be separated. While Thomas was once considered a viable option in most formats due to his ability to fill up a stat sheet, he will need to prove himself before being trusted in the majority of formats again. Fantasy owners should consider him merely a low-end reserve option heading into next season. (Updated 04/24/2012).

04/01/2012 09:55 Thomas finally gets demoted
The longest contract remaining on the Bobcats' salary cap might well be the best use of the NBA's amnesty clause.
Thomas' 2011-12 campaign was a short one as injuries limited him to just 41 games during the season. He played in just seven games after the All-Star break before finally being shutdown at the end of March because of a meniscus tear in his left knee. Thomas was fairly productive when he did play, averaging 11.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game in the 34 games prior to the break while shooting 47 percent from the field. He is also shot 81.4 percent from the charity stripe and is expected to be 100 percent healthy in time for training camp. However, with coach Paul Silas already backing Corey Maggette as his starting small forward, Thomas will likely be coming off the bench next year. That means Fantasy owners should expect more of the same from the 24-year-old. He most likely will average somewhere in the low-double digits in scoring but continue to fill up the box score with rebounds, steals and blocks. As long as he is healthy, Thomas should be considered a solid Fantasy reserve, who is worthy of a late-round pick in most Head-to-Head formats. However, his value remains slightly higher in category-based formats. (Updated 8/28/11)
