Fantasy Analysis
Afflalo is scoring in double digits again for the Nuggets this season but his other stats have fallen off a bit. He is averaging 8.5 points with two rebounds and a steal in his last three contests, and is shooting just 35 percent over that span. His shooting percentage should go up as the season goes on so keep an eye on his progress going forward. But even when he is at his best, Afflalo should be considered as more of an option for deeper Fantasy formats. (Updated 02/08/2012).

02/03/2012 01:49 Gallinari, Nuggets shoot down Clippers

01/29/2012 22:48 Billups cools down Nuggets, fuels Clips
Chauncey Billups' homecoming couldn't have gone better. He scored a season-high 32 points and drew a crucial foul in the waning seconds to help seal the Los Angeles Clippers' 109-105 victory that snapped the Denver Nuggets' six-game winning streak Sunday night.
Despite playing in a career-low 69 games last season, Afflalo burst onto the Fantasy scene in the games he did play. Averaging 33.7 minutes per game and starting all season, Afflalo, a defensive specialist, put up career highs in scoring, rebounding and assists with a 12.6/3.6/2.4 line. Pretty much everything Afflalo did last season ended up in a career high for the former UCLA standout. That said, we are not sure the 26-year-old has giant upside for an improvement. He’s certainly not going to be one of Denver’s top options in the offense and we don’t see a huge increase in production from the fifth-year player. His numbers waned a bit once Denver added depth after trading Chauncey Billups and Carmelo Anthony. Afflalo should begin getting Fantasy consideration on Draft Day in the later rounds as he’s considered just inside the top 50 Fantasy guards heading into the season. (Updated 8/28/11)
