Chandler expected back by camp: Denver forward Wilson Chandler is expected to be ready by the start of training camp next season after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a labral tear in his left hip, the team announced Tuesday. Fantasy Analysis
Chandler arrived in Denver last year as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks. He played for Zhejiang Guangsha of the Chinese Basketball Association during the NBA lockout and rejoined the Nuggets in March, signing a five-year deal worth nearly $37 million. Fantasy owners should monitor his health status during the offseason and consider him a rebound candidate in 2012 drafts. (Updated 05/01/2012).

Chandler will not play in the NBA in 2011-12 as a result of signing a deal to play in China. Unlike other countries who left an open-door policy for NBA players to play overseas during the lockout, the Chinese Basketball Association would only allow players to come over to the NBA who committed to play an entire season in China. So while Chandler worth stashing in long-term formats, he will not be of use to Fantasy owners in any seasonal leagues. He was having a career season in New York last year as he averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game with almost two 3-pointers per contest over his first 51 games. His numbers did not stay at that lofty level after being traded to Denver, however. In his final 21 games with the Nuggets, of which he started 19, Chandler was down to 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 1.2 3-pointers per game while playing nearly five minutes less per contest.
