Conley carries Grizzlies to win : Grizzlies guard Mike Conley did his part to help Memphis get past the Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals Tuesday night. Conley hit hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 1:58 left to put the Grizzlies ahead to stay and connected on a 18-foot jumper to extend the lead to 94-90. He finished with a team-high 26 points in the 99-93 win on 11 of 22 shooting from the field. He went 2 of 7 from downtown and also added 10 rebounds, nine assists and one steal, while logging 42 minutes of game action.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Conley left as bad taste in Fantasy owners mouths early in the year after going through a dreadful shooting slump that lasted most of December and even crept into January. Still, Conley was able to turn things around following the All-Star break as he averaged a 17.2 points and 7.2 assists during the month of March. He put up a career-best 14.6 points on the year and finished as the 19th highest scoring guard, in terms of Fantasy points, in all standard formats. While he has yet to develop into a elite option, owners should plan on spending a early-to-middle round pick on Conley in the majority of draft formats next fall.

| The Grizzlies don't want to play Mike Conley over 35 minutes per game, but did so for the second consecutive season last year as the team is looking for another established point guard to take the load off. Until they find that, Conley will continue to see high minutes for the Grizzlies. Conley posted 12.7 points, 6.5 assists, 2.2 steals and a 3-pointer per game last year in one of his finest as a professional. The 24-year-old could keep growing as the starting point guard for Memphis. We like him as a solid pick after the early rounds in most Fantasy formats on Draft Day. (Updated 8/22/12) |
