Fantasy Analysis
Gasol has not been rebounding as much of late but he is making up for it by contributing in other categories. He is averaging 16 points with 7.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in his last five contests, and is shooting 45 percent over that span. The 27-year-old is on pace for a career year and will head to the All-Star game for the first time. With Houston, New Jersey, Denver and Golden State on the schedule for Week 8 (Feb. 13-19), continue to view Gasol as a solid option in all Fantasy formats. (Updated 02/10/2012).

Rudy Gay scored 21 points to lead five Memphis players in double figures and the Grizzlies blew out the listless Atlanta Hawks 96-77 Thursday night.
Marc Gasol's production took a step back in his third NBA season, returning to the level of his rookie season after enjoying some significant improvements in scoring and rebounds during the 2009-10 season. He is capable of being a mid-teens scorer who can provide around eight or nine boards per game, but the presence of Zach Randolph in Memphis caps what he might otherwise be able to offer. Count on his 2010-11 numbers as a lock, as long as he stays healthy. That would qualify him as at least a low-end No. 1 center option, as it did last season. And, at just 26 years of age, the possibility of a breakout season still remains a distinct possibility. (Updated 8/28/11)
