Fantasy Analysis
Gasol was able to remain in the lineup against the Timberwolves, but did not have one of his better games. While he seemed to get through the contest without doing anymore damage to his left knee, Fantasy owners in daily formats should continue to monitor his status moving forward as the Grizzlies could opt to give him some rest before the start of the playoffs. Gasol is averaging 15.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season -- both career highs -- in 59 outings. Consider him a No. 1 Fantasy center in all formats when healthy. (Updated 04/17/2012).

05/13/2012 16:11 Hobbled Clippers hold off Grizzlies in Game 7, advance to Western semis
Kenyon Martin scored seven of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, and the Los Angeles Clippers advanced to the Western Conference semifinals with an 82-72 win Sunday over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 7.
05/13/2012 16:05 Instant analysis: Clippers unlike Clippers in Game 7 win over Grizzlies
Chris Paul didn't play like Chris Paul. Blake Griffin didn't play like Blake Griffin. And yet the Los Angeles Clippers still managed to overcome a fourth-quarter deficit for the second time in four games inside FedExForum to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 82-72 early Sunday in Game 7 of their first-round series of the Western Conference playoffs.
Marc Gasol's production took a step back in his third NBA season, returning to the level of his rookie season after enjoying some significant improvements in scoring and rebounds during the 2009-10 season. He is capable of being a mid-teens scorer who can provide around eight or nine boards per game, but the presence of Zach Randolph in Memphis caps what he might otherwise be able to offer. Count on his 2010-11 numbers as a lock, as long as he stays healthy. That would qualify him as at least a low-end No. 1 center option, as it did last season. And, at just 26 years of age, the possibility of a breakout season still remains a distinct possibility. (Updated 8/28/11)
