Hawes responds to benching : 76ers coach Doug Collins shook his starting lineup prior to Tuesday night's contest against the Nets. Collins replaced Spencer Hawes with Nikola Vucevic at center, while Jodie Meeks replaced Evan Turner at shooting guard. When youre going through some losing, noted Collins, the easiest thing to do is just stay status quo, and say lets hope this works itself out. Or, you can try to make some changes. And you do that by thinking long and hard on it. (Updated 04/11/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Hawes said he wasn't happy about being moved to the bench, but he responded by dropping on season-high 19 points in the 107-88 win on 7 of 11 shooting from the field. He also added eight rebounds and three blocks to his stat line, while logging 23 minutes of the bench. It remains unclear how long Hawes continues to come off the bench, but if he plays like he did against New Jersey it shouldn't matter. Keep an eye on the 23-year-old's minutes moving forward. Hawes can be considered a No. 2 Fantasy center at this point in the season. (Updated 04/11/2012).

05/14/2012 21:49 Sixers withstand fourth-quarter rally, tie series up with Celtics
Evan Turner made the go-ahead layup with 40.4 seconds left and Philadelphia held off Boston the rest of the way with six straight free throws as the 76ers evened the second-round Eastern Conference series with an 82-81 victory Monday night.
Hawes will once again enter the 2011-12 season as Philadelphia’s starting center. He played in and started 81 games last year in the middle for the 76ers, averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Although he starts down low, it is forward Elton Brand who pulls down the majority of rebounds for Doug Collins and Philadelphia. Even though Hawes started in more games for Philly than he ever did with Sacramento, he saw fewer minutes and his scoring, rebounding and blocked shots all took a hit. Things should stay pretty much the same this year and Hawes could even lose minutes to Marresse Speights. Because centers are so hard to come by in Fantasy, Hawes can still be targeted late in Fantasy drafts. Consider him just inside the top 30 Fantasy centers on Draft Day. (Updated 8/23/11)
