Hawks center Al Horford making return from pectoral injury Tuesday
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(10/14/14) The Hawks announced center Al Horford will make his preseason debut Tuesday against the Heat. He will be in the starting lineup.
Tuesday's game with be Horford's first game action in 10 months. Horford has been sidelined since undergoing surgery in December for a torn right pectoral muscle.
Horford was averaging a career-best 18.6 points per game before getting hurt last season. He was also averaging 8.4 rebounds per game.
|If Al Horford had finished last season healthy, he likely would have finished in the top 25 in Fantasy scoring. Unfortunately, for the second time in three years, Horford's season finished early due to a torn pectoral muscle. In the 29 games he did play in, Horford was dominant, averaging 18.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists, finishing eighth in Fantasy scoring per game among centers. Horford's torn pectoral was not an aggravation of a previous injury, as he has now torn both in separate freak injuries. At this point, he has to be considered an injury risk heading into next season, which could make him a steal on Draft Day if he stays healthy. Horford is a second-round talent who could go as late as the fourth round this season.
