Wright heads into free agency: The last time Brandan Wright was a free agent, he was coming off a lackluster performance on a rookie contract that netted him just a minimum salary contract in the summer of 2011. Coming off a career year this time, Wright heads into free agency, and he closed the season with a flourish that could drive his price tag up. Wright averaged 11.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game from March 1 on, when he was re-inserted into the rotation. (Updated 4/24/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
For the season, Wright averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in just 18.0 minutes per game, as his role on the team was inconsistent throughout the year. Wright has long been a player who can make a solid per-minute contribution, but he has struggled to get full-time minutes, largely due to defensive shortcomings. Wright is still just 26 on when the season opens next October, so he still has some upside. If he can get a bigger role via free agency, Wright might be worth a look at the end of Fantasy drafts, as a sleeper. (Updated 4/24/13). |

Dirk, Marion lead Mavs past sliding Celtics
Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points, Shawn Marion had a double-double in his return from a calf injury and the Mavericks spoiled Jason Terry's return to Dallas with a 104-94 victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday night.
|
| Brandan Wright saw a career high for games last season for the Mavericks with 49. He averaged 16.1 minutes per game and put up 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for Dallas. Wright could be asked to play a bigger role in 2012-13, but we doubt it will be enough to get him to actually matter in most Fantasy formats. Wright should be limited to the deepest of Fantasy formats on Draft Day. (Updated 8/22/12) |
