|E'Twaun Moore picks up slack vs. 76ers |
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(11/27/13) With Jameer Nelson going down with a sprained foot Wednesday, Magic guard E'Twaun Moore scored seven points on 2 of 8 shooting while playing 28 minutes in his team's 105-94 win over the 76ers.
It was Moore's second straight game with at least 28 minutes after seeing that workload just once over the season's first 13 games. If Nelson's injury is even moderately severe, Moore will likely be tasked with playing a large chunk of minutes moving forward. He has averaged 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists while playing 22.3 minutes on average over 15 games.

(4/24/13) The Magic took a chance on a minimum-contract youngster last season, and E'Twaun Moore proved capable of giving them some decent minutes at times. Moore averaged 7.8 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game with the Magic this season, and has likely done enough for the team to bring him back into the fold. He is owed just $884,293 next season, if he is not waived by June 30.
|E'Twaun Moore was probably asked to do too much last season, but it did lead to a few fleeting weeks of Fantasy utility. When asked to start last season, Moore averaged 11.0 points and 4.9 assists per game, though he struggled with his overall efficiency in those 21 contests. Heading into this season, Moore returns to a backup role, and is likely to see fewer minutes with the drafting of Victor Oladipo out of Indiana. Moore could be worth a mid-season addition given injuries to the Magic's roster, but he is best avoided on Draft Day.
