09/18/2011 14:36 Kirilenko's 18 points leads Russia to bronze medal
Aleksey Shved scored the last four points of the game to give Russia the bronze medal at the European basketball championship with a 72-68 victory over Macedonia on Sunday.
Kirilenko's 2010-11 campaign was cut a bit short as he again ran into some injury troubles last season. The 30-year-old has had some problems staying healthy over the past few years, as he has missed 133 combined games, including 18 last year, since the start of 2004. Kirilenko performed about as expected when he was on the court, averaging 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his 64 games. While the days of him scoring in the high teens may be behind him, he continues to fill up the box score whenever he is on the court. Kirilenko has averaged more than a steal and block in each of his 10 seasons in the league, which makes his value a little higher in category-based formats. Owners can likely expect more of the same from him heading into the 2011-12 season, as long as he can stay healthy. If he is, Fantasy owners should feel free to spend a late-round pick on Kirilenko.
