Maggette not rejoining rotation: Detroit forward Corey Maggette will not rejoin the Pistons' rotation going forward, despite the trade that sent Tayshaun Prince out of town. Maggette has not played since Dec. 15.

Maggette couldn't even get minutes when the team's roster was depleted after the trade and before the pieces they received in return came to town. He's not seeing minutes now and he is very unlikely to see them again as he's talked about retiring after the season. Maggette has almost zero Fantasy value remaining.

| The 32-year-old Corey Maggette could realistically be playing his last season in the NBA as he's said he's considering hanging them up after 2012-13. It would make sense for a player who has consistently been one of the most injury prone in the NBA. Maggette, who had knee surgery during the offseason, continues to be one of the more aggressive offensive players when healthy, routinely getting to the foul line. Maggette has made it one of his goals to stay healthy this season, but goals can only take a player so far. He only played in 32 games last year with Charlotte, but did average 15 points, 4.0 rebounds and almost a 3-pointer per game. As long as he can stay healthy, Maggette should be worth owning in most deeper Fantasy formats. (Updated 8/28/12) |
