Jackson waived by Spurs : The Spurs have waived guard Stephen Jackson, the team announced Friday. Jackson, who had missed two of the last three games due to an ankle injury, averaged 6.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 55 games with the Spurs this season. Teams have until Sunday evening to put in a claim for Jackson, but since he was waived after March 1, he is not eligible for the postseason.

| Fantasy Analysis |
This certainly comes as a bit of a surprise as Jackson must have done something to get under coach Gregg Popovich's skin. However, Jackson hasn't been relevant in Fantasy ever since he landed in San Antonio, so maybe a change in scenery will help him find his game again. While Jackson obviously won't have any Fantasy value for the rest of this season, owners should keep an eye on where he lands over the summer. Don't forget, Jackson is only two years removed from averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals when he was in Charlotte.

| Stephen Jackson was just a complementary role player for Gregg Popovich's Spurs down the stretch last season after coming over from Milwaukee. He had a tumultuous time with the Bucks, and came over to the Spurs with limited expectations as he ended up averaging 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and almost a 3-pointer per game over 24 minutes per night. He enters the 2012-13 season as a 34-year-old looking to grab a bigger role with his club. Still, with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and the rest still around, Jackson will likely continue to post moderate returns.
