|(1/25/15) Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Nets with a wrist injury, the team announced Sunday.
Batum, who told reporters he tore a tendon in his wrist during a Dec. 17 game against the Bucks, is averaging 9.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. If he is unable to go, Allen Crabbe or Will Barton would start in Batum's place.
The Blazers are currently 6-point favorites against Brooklyn.
Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum says he tore a tendon in his wrist
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(1/25/15) Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum said after Saturday's game he tore a tendon on the outside of his wrist on Dec. 17, according to The Oregonian.
Batum suffered the injury when he fell awkwardly during Portland's game against the Bucks. He has re-aggravated it on and off over the past month, typically when he falls on the court. It is unknown how long this will keep Batum out of the lineup.
|Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum enjoyed the best rebounding campaign of his career and is primed for another well-balanced season in 2014-15. Batum finished last season averaging 13.0 points, 7.5 boards and 5.1 assists while playing all 82 games. It's the first time he's appeared in 80-plus game since the 2010-11 season. Batum also posted 16 double-doubles and two triple-doubles over that span. In the postseason, he averaged 15.2 points on 47.2 percent shooting over 11 games. We don't expect the Trail Blazers to change much of his role on offense, so if he manages to play in 80-plus games again, the sky appears to be the limit. Though his scoring was a bit down last season, his rebounding should continue to improve. He's primed to post career-best in double-doubles and rebounding. He should be targeted anywhere between Rounds 4-6 of the draft.
