Bayless finally makes return : As expected, Grizzlies guard Jerryd Bayless was able to get back on the court for Friday's contest against the Rockets. Bayless, who had missed the last two games with a knee injury, finished with 13 points in the 82-78 win. He 5 of 14 from the field and also added four rebounds, two assists and and one steal to his stat line, while logging 30 minutes off the bench.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Bayless has been trying to end the season on a high note as he entered Friday's tilt averaging 15.1 points and 3.9 assists over his last 10 games on 42.5 percent shooting from the field. However, his production has been inconsistent for much of the season, which made it tough for Fantasy owners to leave him active for long stretches of time. Consider the 24-year-old merely a low-end option when healthy.

| Jerryd Bayless remains a talented enigma, in search of a position, as he heads to Memphis. He will likely fill the spot O.J. Mayo left empty as a backup guard at both spots, which is largely the way he was used last season in Toronto. He averaged 11.4 points in just 22.7 minutes per game for the Raptors, which translates to 18.0 points over a 36-minute pace. He will likely see a small bump in minutes for a Grizzlies' team that has been starved for floor spacing, and if he can shoot 42.3 percent from three-point range again, they might be forced to leave him on the floor more. He has clear potential, but Fantasy owners should leave him for the later rounds on Draft Day, as a reserve with upside. (Updated 8/21/12) |
