Grizzlies SG Courtney Lee scores game-winner vs. Kings
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(11/13/14) Grizzlies shooting guard Courtney Lee scored the game-winner in his team's 111-110 over the Kings Thursday and finished the game with 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting in 36 minutes off the bench.
Lee took an in-bound lob uncovered under the basket with just three-tenths of a second remaining in the game and managed to get a shot up while falling behind the backboard. The Kings argued that the man defending the player putting the ball in-bounds tipped the ball, which would have started the clock if true, but the officials let the play stand, giving the Grizzlies a big come-from-behind win.
Lee also racked up three assists, three steals and one rebound in the win. His next matchup comes Saturday against the Pistons.
|Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee is primed for his first full season in Memphis. Lee got off to a slow start and in 30 games, he averaged 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 49.2 percent shooting and 44.2 percent from downtown for the Celtics. A January trade to the Grizzlies, gave new life to the shooting guard, as he started 47 of the team's 49 games. With Memphis, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from downtown. Chances are Lee will post similar numbers with the Grizzlies this season, but will likely be viewed as a possible midseason addition through waivers. Ignore him in most formats come Draft Day.
