Lopez plays a little in finale: Nets center Brook Lopez was back on the court Wednesday in the team's final game of the regular season against Detroit, after sitting out the previous game with a sore back. Lopez played 21 minutes in the playoff tuneup, and dominated the Pistons' young frontcourt. He scored 20 points on 7 of 15 shooting, while grabbing nine rebounds in a 103-99 win. (Updated 4/17/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
The Nets are headed to the playoffs for the first time in Lopez's career, and they are trying to balance keeping him healthy with making sure he isn't rusty. The 24-year-old has been able stay relatively healthy this season finishes with averages of 19.4 points and 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks on 52 percent shooting from the field in 74 games. Lopez has performed like a high-end option all season, so Fantasy owners should plan on spending an early-round pick on the 7-footer in most draft formats next fall. (Updated 4/17/13). |
| The Nets were undoubtedly disappointed when their pursuit of Dwight Howard ended this offseason without luring the big man to Brooklyn, but their disappointment ended up being Lopez's gain, as the Nets made him their Plan B, inking him to a four-year, $60 million contract. Lopez's offensive upside is clear, as he averaged 18.8 and 20.4 points per game in 2009-10 and 2010-11, respectively, however that does not mean there are no risks for the Nets. Lopez played in just five games last season due to a foot injury, and he averaged only 6.1 rebounds per game in 2010-11, a pitiful total for a center. Still, Fantasy owners would take 20-6 from a center without question, so we have to hope he can reach that again. Scoring might be a little more difficult on the Nets' now-loaded roster, however Lopez's skill set is unique enough that he should be able to fit in and reach the level of a No. 1 Fantasy center this season.
