McGee finds the bench: Nuggets center Javale McGee had been solid in his six games prior to Sundays game against the Magic, however he hit rock bottom in that one, as he was benched in favor of Kosta Koufos for most of the second half. McGee played just 11 minutes in the game, turning the ball over five times while scoring just two points. He did grab seven rebounds in his limited minutes, however he was a non-factor in the Nuggets 104-101 win. (Updated 04/01/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
The Nuggets did not need a center for most of the game, which might explain why Mcgee and Koufos only played 33 minutes combined, but it is still a very bad sign for him that he was on the short end of that platoon. McGee has all of the talent in the world, however he continues to struggle putting it out on the floor. Well see if he can get back to starters minutes moving forward, however his lack of minutes makes him a risky start for Fantasy Week 15 (April 2-8.) Consider him just a low-end Fantasy option this week. (Updated 04/01/2012).

Jim Rome lets us know what he thinks about Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee getting whistled for trying to dunk his own missed free throw. Watch "Rome" - Weeknights 6 ET on CBS Sports Network.
Everyone has seen JaVale McGee make the highlight dunks and ridiculous blocks, but many wondered if he had the skill set and discipline to actually establish himself as a quality big man in this league. Although, after putting up career highs in starts (74), points (10.1), rebounds (8.1) and blocks (2.4), some of those doubts may have been put to rest. McGee had his most productive season as a pro during the 2010-11 campaign and really polished some aspects of his game. However, there are still some maturity issues with the 7-footer, who was suspended for getting into a fight with teammate Andray Blatche at a nightclub and also had his fair share of run ins with coach Flip Saunders. Still, at age 23, McGee hasn't reached his ceiling yet, which is scary considering the numbers he averaged in less than 30 minutes a game last season. He looks to have all the makings of an elite Fantasy center for years to come, although he isn't quite there yet. Consider McGee a No. 2 center worthy of a mid-to-late-round pick on Draft Day.
