Thompson explodes in loss: Kings forward Jason Thompson dominated the boards on Thursday against the Clippers, grabbing eight offensive rebounds and 16 total, while scoring 15 points against the formidable Clippers front court. Thompson took advantage of his hard work on the offensive glass, scoring on easy putbacks for a 6 of 11 shooting mark in the game. He also changed the game on the other end, blocking two shots, however his efforts were not enough, as the Kings fell, 93-85. (Updated 04/06/2012)

Fantasy Analysis
Thompson now has four games of at least 15 rebounds and seven double-doubles total over the last 11 games he has played in. He continues to prove his worth as a starter, doing the dirty work next to DeMarcus Cousins. Fantasy owners should take note of Thompsons continued strong play and consider him a solid starting option down the stretch. (Updated 04/06/2012).

What does Week 15 offer you for a title push? Our Adam Moore has you covered in his latest schedule breakdown.
The additions of DeMarcus Cousins and Samuel Dalembert last season, took a bite out of Jason Thompson's progression in his third NBA season. After experiencing improvements across the board in his sophomore NBA season in 2009-10, he suffered career lows in scoring average (8.8 ppg), rebounds (6.0 rpg) and and blocks (0.6 bpg) all while playing less than he did in each of his first two campaigns. This year, the addition of J.J. Hickson could add to those statistical frustrations, though coach Paul Westphal has mentioned during the offseason that he would like to get Thompson more involved. In 239 starts last season, Thompson averaged just 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds and was simply not featured enough to be as productive as he was his first two seasons. We do not anticipate that to change much this season, barring injuries, making Thompson merely a late-round pick in Fantasy drafts. However, among late-rounders, Thompson may be one of the more capable bigs available under the right circumstances. (Updated 8/28/11)
