Mack, who has played for three different teams this season, averaged under two points per game over five appearances for Atlanta in his first go-round. He has zero Fantasy value. (Updated 3/16/13). |
| Life as the backup to a star point guard has its perks. Unfortunately, playing time is not one of them and Shelvin Mack realized that in his rookie campaign with Washington last year. With franchise guard John Wall commanding 2,386 minutes -- the most among all point guards -- while starting all 66 games, Mack averaged only 12.2 minutes a night. The former Butler standout never topped 24 minutes in a contest as he was primarily used on the court to give Wall a breather and posted a mere 3.6 points per game. Barring an injury, that trend will undoubtedly carry into the 2012-13 season as the rebuilding Wizards will continue to lean heavily on Wall at the point. Mack showed improved accuracy late in the season and drained a season-high 44.8 percent of his attempts from the field in April, but most of them were within a few feet of the basket. With his playing time expected to remain limited, Fantasy owners can bypass Mack in all drafts and look to add him off waivers if something happens to Wall. (Updated 8/21/12) |
