Walker hitting a wall late: Bobcats guard Kemba Walker has taken all of the steps we expected in his second season in the league, but he seems to be struggling down the stretch. Walker had his second poor performance in a row Saturday against the Nets, scoring just seven points in 25 minutes of action. He shot 3 of 9 from the field and had just four assists, with three turnovers, in a 105-96 loss. (Updated 4/6/13) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
Walker is shooting 39.0 percent from the field over the last six games, and has made just three 3-pointers. Still, he has improved his game across the board from a lackluster rookie season, putting up 17.5 points and 5.7 assists per game, while being a legitimately useful Fantasy option all season. He has yet to miss a game this season, and can be excused for possibly tiring at the end of his longest season ever. Walker continues to have a bright future, and has already cemented himself as a dependable Fantasy option in all formats down the stretch. (Updated 4/6/13). |
| Kemba Walker's rookie campaign was plagued by inconsistency as the 22-year-old struggled to find his footing during his first season in the NBA. The former University of Connecticut standout averaged 12.1 points, 4.4 assists and 3.5 rebounds while appearing in 66 games for the Bobcats but really struggled to knock down shots. After shooting 43 percent from the field during his four-year career at UCONN, Walker shot just 36 percent from the floor last season and 30.1 percent from downtown. To be fair, Walker was shuffled in and out of the starting rotation numerous times, and while he did average 27 minutes per contest, he did go through stretches were he didn't see much of the floor. However, Charlotte decided to part ways with D.J. Augustin this summer and have dubbed Walker the team's starting point guard moving forward. While the Bobcats did sign Roman Sessions, new coach Mike Dunlap has already hinted that Walker will remain in the starting lineup. With the promise of playing starter's minutes and a ton of upside, Walker has a chance to be a nice sleeper option heading into the 2012-13 campaign. Still, because he is very unproven, owners should consider him more of a low-end No. 4 Fantasy guard next fall. (Updated 8/22/12) |
