Shumpert a non-factor in Game 4 : Knicks guard Iman Shumpert was not much of a factor in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Pacers. Shumpert, who was listed as a game-time decision entering the contest due to swelling on his left knee, failed to score in the 93-82 defeat. He missed on all six of his field-goal attempts and added just two rebounds and one assist to his stat line, while logging 16 minutes of game action.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Shumpert did not look to be 100 percent Tuesday night, which should have Knick fans very worried. The 22-year-old saw his production drop across the board this season as he spent most of the year working his way back from his ACL surgery. While Shumpert can be a decent source for 3-pointers at times, there are still a ton of questions surrounding the rest of his offensive game. Fantasy owners should plan on targeting the 22-year-old in the later rounds in deeper formats next fall.

| Iman Shumpert enjoyed a solid rookie season for the Knicks, averaging 9.5 points and 2.8 assists per game, and would have been poised for a possible breakout campaign, but a torn ACL suffered during the playoffs derailed his season before it could even begin. At this point, Shumpert is probably going to miss the entire first half of the season, and who knows how the athletic young guard will react to coming off a severe injury. He has a bright future, but he will have trouble making an impact in 2012-13. (Updated 8/21/12) |
