Report: Magic, Nikola Vucevic agree to four-year extension
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(10/21/14) The Magic and center Nikola Vucevic have agreed to a four-year, $53-million extension, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Vucevic posted a career-best 14.2 points per game last season while appearing in 57 games. He has shot 50.4 percent from the field in three seasons as a professional, the last two with Orlando.
Nikola Vucevic, Tobias Harris are part of team's future, Magic GM says
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(9/30/14) Magic general manager Rob Hennigan told reporters on media day that he envisions center Nikola Vucevic and forward Tobias Harris as part of their future, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.
"We don't envision a scenario where either of those players aren't with us moving forward," Hennigan said.
Vucevic appeared in 57 games last season, averaging a career-best 14.2 points per outing. He is expected to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2014-15 season. The Magic are hoping to give Harris an extension before the start of this season. He averaged 14.6 points and 7.0 rebounds over 61 games in 2013-14.
Nikola Vucevic will sit out final two games
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(4/13/14) Magic center Nikola Vucevic, who has missed the past five games with a sore Achilles tendon, will sit out the final two games of the season, the team announced on Sunday. Vucevic finished the season with averages of 4.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in 57 appearances.
Nikola Vucevic ruled out Friday, still hopes to return
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
|(4/11/14) Magic center Nikola Vucevic will sit out Friday's game against the Wizards, as he continues to deal with an Achilles injury. Vucevic has now missed four games as a result of the injury, but the team's official website reports he will not be shut down for the final week of the season, and instead will travel with the team on an upcoming road trip.
Nikola Vucevic ruled out Wednesday
|by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com|
|(4/9/14) Magic center Nikola Vucevic will not be in the lineup Wednesday, as his sore Achilles hasn't recovered enough to warrant a start the team website reports.
Orlando doesn't have much to play for, so it makes sense that the team would choose to rest one of it's rising talents. Wednesday will mark Vucevic's 21st missed game on the season.
|If it wasn't for injuries, Nikola Vucevic would have cemented his place among the top-10 Fantasy centers last season. Unfortunately, he ended up missing 25 games, including nearly all of the month of January due to a concussion. When he played, Vucevic was as productive as nearly any center in the league, averaging 14.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game, despite seeing his playing time dip to 31.8 minutes per game. If Vucevic can prove healthy heading into a contract year, there is every reason to think he will be a No. 1 Fantasy center next season. Fantasy owners should plan on targeting Vucevic after the first few rounds go by on Draft Day.
