Thomas drops 29 on Mavericks : Kings guard Isaiah Thomas turned in somewhat of a bounce-back performance during Friday's contest against the Mavericks. Thomas, who scored went 3 of 16 from the field the last time he has on the court, finished with a team-high 29 points in the 117-108 defeat on 9 of 20 shooting from the field. However, he missed on all seven of his attempts from behind the arc and added just three rebounds, one assist and one steal to his stat line, while logging 36 minutes of game action. | Fantasy Analysis |
Thomas appears determined to end the season on a high note as he is averaging 19.7 points and 5.0 assists over his last 10 games on 47 percent shooting from the field. While he is giving owners more than two made treys over that stretch as well, he is just 1 of 14 from behind the arc over his last two games. Thomas remains one of the more streaky players in the league and his hot and cold spells makes him a very frustrating option at times. However, Thomas' overall production has been good enough to leave him active in all formats over the final 10 days of the season. (Updated 4/6/13). |

| The last pick in the 2011 NBA Draft was anything but Mr. Irrelevant in his rookie season, Isaiah Thomas took over the starting point guard job in the second half of the season and ran with it. Despite being just 5-foot-9, Thomas emerged as a strong Fantasy option, averaged 14.2 points and 5.2 assists per game after the All-Star game, while showing a consistent ability to get his shot off from wherever he wanted. Now the test will be for him to keep it up, especially on what has been a dysfunctional offensive club over the last few seasons. The Kings should keep on running on offense next season, and Thomas is perfectly suited for that style of play, making him a strong option in most Fantasy drafts. Taking him in the middle rounds as a No. 3 guard should be the way to go. (Updated 9/26/12) |
