Fantasy Analysis
Budinger is playing poorly right now for Houston. He's seeing over 22 minutes per game over his last five contests but is shooting just under 29 percent over that span to average 7.0 points per game. Playing poorly as he is currently, Budinger can be used only in very deep Fantasy formats. (Updated 03/27/2012).

Who are owners scooping up off the waiver wire in advance of opening day? Our Nando Di Fino takes a look at some early roster trends and shares his take on who to add and avoid in Setting the Trends.
Chase Budinger will go into the 2011-12 NBA season with a chance to be the team's regular at small forward, which could result in his breakout campaign in NBA Year No. 3. A very capable outside shooter, he should average double figures for the first time in his NBA career with even a modest increase over his 22.3 minutes per game averaged last year. He may have to fend off the likes of rookie Marcus Morris if he becomes more of a wing player in the NBA, but is a true value pick as a sleeper with upside in the later rounds. Count on him for 3-point help and free-throw percentage in category play, though he typically does not drive enough to get to the line more than a couple of times per game. (Updated 8/28/11)
