|(2/26/15) The Kings aren't ruling guard Darren Collison out for the remainder of the season yet.
Collison, who has a hip injury, will be re-evaluted in two-to-three weeks following a surgical procedure on a core muscle this Tuesday, the Kings announced on Thursday. Collison, who's been listed as having a a hip injury, suffered the injury against the Mavericks on Feb. 5 and has not played in a game since.
Collison is meeting with Dr. William Meyers on Monday at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia on Monday for a consultation before undergoing surgery the next day.
Collison has averaged 16.1 points and 5.6 assists in 45 games this season.
A previous report indicated that Collison's season could be in jeopardy as a result of the injury.

|(2/26/15) Although a final decision has not been made, the Kings front office aren't optimistic that guard Darren Collison will play again this season, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
The Kings have been without Collison since Feb. 7 due to a strained right hip flexor. He traveled to Los Angeles on Tuesday to see a specialist, and the team has yet to reveal the results of his testing. Collison played 45 games for Sacramento, averaging 16.1 points and 5.6 assists. Guard Ray McCallum has been inserted into the starting lineup during Collison's absence.

Kings' Darren Collison to see specialist for hip injury

|(2/23/15) With Kings guard Darren Collison continuing to be plagued by a hip flexor injury, Collison will fly to Los Angeles on Tuesday to see a specialist, the team announced.
Collison has missed the last six games because of the hip issue. In 45 games, he is averaging 16.1 points and 5.6 assists. Guard Ray McCallum Jr. has been starting in Collison's place.
|The Kings drew plenty of criticism for their decision to move on from Isaiah Thomas last offseason, but Darren Collison was terrific as the starting point guard before a hip injury ended his season in February. His reward for proving the Kings wrong? A move to the bench, most likely, after the Kings opted to sign Rajon Rondo this offseason. Collison should still play plenty of minutes, though it is fair to wonder if a backcourt with he and Rondo together is workable defensively. If not, Collison may be relegated to just backup work, a disappointing outcome after he averaged 16.1 points and 5.6 assists per game a year ago. Collison was good enough -- and Rondo was bad enough -- last season that you shouldn't give up on him entirely, but it will be hard to justify drafting him as a starter with how many good point guards are out there.
