Blairs slide continues: Spurs C Dejuan Blair started the season strong, however he has bottomed out in the month of February so far, a trend that continued on Wednesday against Philadelphia. He scored just six points on 3 of 7 shooting in the game, though he did add six rebounds and three assists in just 17 minutes. Despite scoring just six, it was his best scoring game of the month. Fantasy Analysis
Blair seemed like he was on his way to a career year, however he has seen his production and playing time slip as the season has gone along. He is averaging just 3.8 points per game in the month of February on 33.3 percent shooting from the field. At this point, Fantasy owners should not be relying on Blair in any formats consistently. DeJuan Blair enjoyed modest increases across the board during his second NBA season. In Year No. 3, we expect his progression to remain along the same lines, though the chances for a significant jump are there. As the Spurs continue to try to ease the workload of an aging Tim Duncan, Blair will be asked to take on more, especially in terms of rebounding and defense. That should buy him more minutes this season, likely approaching 30 minutes per contest for the first time. Offensively, Fantasy owners should not expect much more than about nine points per game, however, what he can offer in rebounds, blocks and steals alone could qualify him as a top-25 center option in Fantasy.
